We have LPG with a torodoidal tank so my tyre is now upright in the cargo compartment in our wagon.

I've asked at Repco and Supercheap for a grey carpet tyre cover but with no luck. Did those of you with them have them custom made? Or is there a place to buy them from?

Try Ford. I know that their dedicated LPG wagons have a carpeted cover for the spare. See what they can do for you. Mind you it will probably be as dear as...

I believe Cressidas have a carpeted spare cover aswell as the spare sits upright in the boot. Perhaps check one out at a wrecker, may be quite cheap.

Yep my 86 Cressy had a carpeted tyre cover. Plastic shell covered in carpet to fit a 205/65/15 rim from memory.

Yeh I got mine free too, I guess you can ring a few gas places and they should be able to sell you one.

One thing I noticed with mine, the screw cap that holds the wheel is only metal with no plastic or felt protection. So just from putting it on now my stock alloy wheel has the silver paint all scratched off it.
