just curious how low 380's can go without problems?
once again i am contemplating my xr6t, i was hoping after my new tunbe id enjoy the car a little more, sadly 310rw kw's and a 2800 stall convertor that is possible of making a very nigh 11second quarter mile doesnt make me happy at all:(
from what ive seen this is the lowest 380 on these forums http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58714
realisticly if i do buy a 380 id want another inch and a half on how low this is, has it been done? im sure its possible but im just not sure where the nump stops on these cars are.
i really really miss driving a classy low riding car that doesnt need to be fast but is just class all over :( aww

I put Kings Super Lows front and Low rear. Another guy here, Type40, put Super Lows all round in his 380. With mine, there is still enough space to drop another 1 inch... but already the tow hook scratches on dips, and I can just make it onto workshop hoists - so while it could go lower, I'd be elimated from many things (some streets, dips, driveways, hoists, etc). So this is low enough for me.
I think most of the other 380 guys here are about the same.

thanks mate,
that doesnt concern me to much, id intend to put 20's on it so it would prob lift slightly, and well if anyone has seen my old TH magna it used to sit 55mm off the ground so it wouldnt worry me to much at all

Off Topic - but what's happened? Is the car very difficult in traffic? What aren't you enjoying or hasn't met your expectations?
I'm interested because I nearly bought one a few years ago.

oh theres nothing wrong with it at all, when u get the odd car given in a squirt i just give it a blip and watch their faces drop literrally, changing into 3rd gear at high revs (remember this is a 4speed auto) the car kicks sideways lol,
though,
i dunno it really just isnt me! im all about tuff old school 4cyls lumping off their guts NA, or Slick classy and clean VIP styled cars, i really really get no enjoyment out of my xr6t unless someone has gone out of their way to give me a squirt lol, i really prefer to own things a little left of centre that is possibly just ahead of becoming a certain trend,
when i got my magna there was basically me, SYNERGY and ASYLUM, were the only magna in adelaide that had really touched it , so it was good to have something very rare yet classy . i think visually 380 has sooooooooooo much pimp factor is u do it right lol, id love to be the one to do it,
class and style wins out over power and balls any days i think lol

There are a few black 380s here, though no VRXs or GTs that I'm aware of... and certainly no 380 at all with the type of mods you're talking about. They (the mods) would restrict your vehicle in many aspects, and may even breach rego requirements/insurance for your state, but it would look very good!
Here's a pic that floated around here years ago. I think it's a photoshop, but does look very nice.

yes that pic 2 years ago got me very interested , specially watchme's ... well now called jpap's version of that chop.
Rims can be engineered very cheeply, 20's wont be a problem with a certificate, springs may be an issue, but a 380 is never going to look close to the ground specially with 20's so it should be fine , as opposed to my old magnas style, because it was kitted it looked even lower and attracted the wrong attention... a 380 needs no kit at all

.... man if i did do it though id be going onto 6 long years on this forum... dang lol
also i know there would be 0 travel left on the springs but i really dont inted to hammer it at all, i really am over that sort of thing, also power mods would be zilch, not even an exhaust lol , just plain old VIP styling

I like your style! Surely you could try and get 380 springs compressed or are they any coilovers for 380s?

Yep... Sounds right. They will reset them to whatever. Give them a call.

Yep, sounds original and pretty good.
Speaking of original, I saw a 380VRX/SX today that was blue but had gold on the grill and the complete side skirt, chin spoiler and rear lower skirt. Really looked good. Like Royal Blue and Gold type theme; all class and not over the top at all.
It was coming the other way so only saw it for a few moments. If I get another chance I'll try for some photos.
