Just out of curiousity if you wanted your sedan in the same colour or a different colour fully resprayed how much would it cost/>

same colour is cheaper, as you dont have to spray inside the doors and engine bay, but even so expect to pay thousands!

at work, we are quoting on a import 300ZX for a colour change - from yellow to a Candy Blue.
now of course keeping in mind that Candy's are a PITA to do right, the quote is up to 10k
that includes (for this one anyway) stripping the car down and then putting it all back together again when its painted.
if you just wanted a metallic, i would say around 6k roughly, providing no body work is required.
you can get them cheaper, if you do a lot of the prep work yourself BEFORE getting a painter to do the job.

I just paid $1300 for my respray, which included fitting a new windscreen and a VRX wing, although the panel beater is a mate of mine and it was a same colour respray.

And i paid $160,but thats not the point. If the prep work is done beforehand, youre looking at 1-1.5k. Otherwise, you will spend 2-3 or maybe 4-5k.

Is that a quality finish though? $1300 for a full respray sounds really cheap, I've been wanting to get my bonnet and rear quarter done and have had quotes ranging from 1650-2500 just for those two sections!

You just don't know where to go. I know a place that'd do that for I dare say no more than $500, probably a fair bit less than that, and its fantastic work.

Mine was just exterior as well and in a proper booth and all, just turned into a full respray as we kept finding little dents and stratches everywhere, was just easier and looks 100x better with smooth shiny paint :) Though being a mate of mine helped as well seeing as I got the screen, scuttle panel replaced and the vrx wing done.

Thats damn cheap!
Compared to my pricing, respray's can vary depending on the condition of the vehicle and what has previously been done to it depending on how old it is.
Price's can be different due to a major factor aswell, quality of materials and work being carried out play a massive part of pricing in this trade.
At the end of the day,it all comes down to what the owner wants out of the job.

Depending on how well you prep the car and do your repairs you'll still be looking towards $2000+ depending on other conditions and what quality paint is used.
I've done jobs like a GT40 kit car which set the owner back $65,000 but was alot of work in it and i've done $2000 resprays but thats ivolves a quick sand and good go over but cheap paint is used.
All comes down to the buyer really but if you can do a bit of the work yourself and do farely good, you'll reduce the price of the car having to be painted so the only thing left to be done would be masking, cleaning and checking before paint is applied.

They have similar places here, only thing is you rock up, they look at the car and anything that needs more than a quick cut back with a sander costs big $$ which is how they make the money.

After I have waxed mine, it looks MAD in direct light. It looks like a real deep green but has an awesome effect when going into shade
