The current Verada offers dealer fitted combination sat/nav system as part of the radio/CD unit.
Has anyone heard if that unit is the same size as the radio/CD fitted to the KJ Verada? The sat/nav screen swings out and upwards and should be in a good viewing position for the driver.
Previous sat/nav units were located down near the ashtray......way too low for sensible viewing while driving.

The one in the GTV is down by the ashtray.. and the ones at Zupps - Mt Gravatt are also the same.. So I'm not too sure what's doing there.. but the SatNav in the GTV has connections for DVD Player, TV, Reversing Camera and something else.. Nobody knows what its for.. but its there.. :?

Thanks "Driver"
I haven't seen a sat/nav unit in operation in a TL but l suspect it would swing up and block the central air vents, to a degree. On a hot day, i'm not sure that's a good thing.
If the unit was "fittable" in my KJ, the screen would, l suspect, partially restrict the climate control switches. The air vents however would not be blocked. If you think about it, to use the climate control in auto mode as it can be used, you don't need to access the controls unless you want to adjust the temperature. Mine is set on 22 degrees all the time.

it will fit in the KJ with no problems....the screen mitsubishi use is a standard motorised clarion screen/dvd unit. which means you could fit it to pretty much any car on the planet

I actually was part of design team with this SATNAV system on TL's it uses a flip out clarion SCreen with amp and DVD Sat NAv system mounted from a cradle in the boot.
Basically all of the tuner and amp for the stereo lives in the boot, the satnav uses a dvd Video input to the unit which transfers pictures to the screen.
You get a remote control which drives the SATNAV system Via the Infrared port on the stereo headunits IR window.
I believe it wouldn't be too hard to adapt a DVD player with movies etc to this system (you cannot play DVD's in satnav DVD player FYI).
Basically its a fantastic amp and headunit with a good SAtnav system pumped into the cars speakers.
Hope this info is of use, feel free to ask more if required and I will try and help!.
