Car is dirty as, havn't yet taken a clean photo.... (LARGE SIZE - BEWARE)

http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/8579/15092008112zm4.jpg

There 17's, on maxis MA-V1 Rubber, exact same rolling diameter as the old tyres, and about an inch wider! So much quieter, than my "triangle" brand tryes, or my "POSatration" tyres, although they were good for a laugh at MM07.

The fellas at bob jane were even nice enough to paint my calipers black for me.

Yeah thinking about it, How hard is it to get the strips off the doors? I have to have all the door cards off again soon to finish up my power window conversion.

And would I leave the chrome stip as chrome?

is it possible to take the strips off?
I saw a dodgy second gen the other day whos had been ripped off, and there were holes all down the side of the car where i was held on..
same with the plastic triangles

Correct, if you take the side mouldings off you will have holes, although you can take it off to paint.

freaking easy...i'd know- i just resprayed;)

All you have to do is grab from a place where you can get a hold of it and yank it. it wont break it's flexible plastic...just pull it. all the clips will POP out and it'll fall to the ground:) done and done...I suggest buying a large biottle of Mineral Turpentine for cleaning the double sided tape off the panel work and the strips for reinstallment-no it wont damage the paint underneath:)

EDIT- Also, I suggest taking the chrome stip off and replacing with new from Autobar/similar- nothing like new chrome on the car to give it a lift...That way, you can spray right under the strip and reduce the risk of the paint peeling off as you remove the masking tape...do same for bumpers:)

ALTERNATELY- to reduce the amount of work needed, go to wreckers and buy some strips off a Verada like I did. That way, they're already painted and minimal prep is required, if in good cond, a quick go over with 800 wet and they'll be ready for painting. With any luck, you'll find a 'rada thats the same colour ;)

Just out of interest do you know how much he paid? it cost me about $1100 all up for these, tyres, rims, balencing, fitting, paint on callipers and hubs etc.

Will take a trip to the local wreckers tommorow and see much the want for the strips, knowing the wreckers around here it will be about $200 all up!!

na man not lowered, but I put that spare exhaust you gave me on, sounds ****ing awesome.

Can't really lower it, it would become impractical. Next up is brakes, replace rear rocker cover gasket, tint.

With new side indicators, repaint front/rear bar, fake leather for back seats along the way.

does the intake manifold need removing to replace the rear gasket?

Dave

almost certain of it

I have heard that it can be done without removing it. but it's not that big of a job even if I have to. In the end either way it's worth it.

People have said that the intake has to come off to get the distributor off as well, but if you twist and shake it a bit it comes of fine.

I took the car for a spirited drive last night and all I can say is "Oh My God!" the whole car has changed, the tyres really grip going around a corner, with my old tyres they would just squeal and slide etc.
