hey, i just noticed on my TF advance there is no BEM, on my TH exe there is a black box that says BEM
but on the TF there is a box that is in a slightly different position saying reciver assembly, which is the remote central locking reciver, i thought all 3rd gens had a factory imobiliser, with the transponder built into the Key?, hence the BEM?

I'm going to ask a stupid question...
What's a TH?

You're not serious are you? He's referring to his TH series Exec compared to his TF series advance.
Anyhow, did the TF have remove central locking? Mitsu may have integrated the remove central locking with the immoboliser unit in the TH.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the BEM a 3.5 thing in the 3rd gens? So you shouldn't have one in a TF, but should add it when you do the conversion?

its for body electronics and I doubt has anything to do with the actuall engine side of things, just things like doors, headlights etc

Yeah yeah, what I'm saying is don't all the 3.5 models have it, and thats it? What I said wasn't very clear, I simply meant isn't it featured in the same cars that have the 3.5L Motor, not directly in relation to the engine itself.

This elusive BEM was added to the TH/KH apon release and controls various electrical timed functions in the car such as the Trip computer/locks/lights/times/imob/window delay etc. It effectively replaced the ETACS system that the KE/F Verada XI got as standard and the module that the low spec TE/F versions got. It was supplied by BOSCH to Mitsu for all TH/KH onwards regardless of engine specification or equipment level.

well this is getting very complicated very quickly, i want to change over ecu and bem , so i can use the CMD unit, and this also saves me tricking the inhibitor switch and reversing light, and adding a cut out for the cruise control on the clutch, but looks like i would have to change over all the locks, doors/boot/glovebox/ignition, buy a remote, and reprogram it.
also for the cruise control make my own loom that runs parrallel with the existing loom and spice it in where it is ment to connect to.
not to mention if the ABS and SRS air bag systems are tied in with this loom?
