Got an email from Phillcom rally a while back with prices and such for a suspension package..
He said $620 for KYBs and either Lovells or King Springs... cool that's all good and i'm fine with that...

He also said that "The best spring that I have is the King SP, it will drop your car to 370mm all round and has the best performance."

Where abouts is this 370mm measured from?
Because i did it just from ground-side skirts and it would turn my car into a 4x4....

Isn't it from the centre of the wheel to the centre of the guard arc?

I believe that is correct. I think its done that way because it's accurate and some surfaces may not be level.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmm, appears it will lower it at the front but slightly raise the rear... will this give me the dredded WEDGE appearance ???

It'll keep the slightly slanted stance, but it's lower overall. I've got SP Lows, which drop about 1 1/4" (30mm).

I'd go the Kings. In my previous ride (see avatar) I had KYBs with Lovells Super Lows. Absolutely crap ride. Although it did look the goods.

What are Kings springs equal to the lovells super low?

EDIT: I'm refreshing this page like a mad man!

I'm pretty sure King don't make a comparable spring to the Lovell SL.

my Lovell lows dropped the car by about 35mm all around. the superlows are about another 20mm.

I thought the King lows dropped by 25-30mm

depends how low u wanna go,

I have Lovells Lows on the front and King lows on the back of my old car now my mothers..

Lovells are a softer spring, with the KYB's it was a great handling car.. however if you want real low get coilovers  you can also save on install because u can do it yourself

EDIT: This spring combination has lasted 250,000Km too!!! they have only just started to sag and need replacing..

Why are you guys again Lovells ?

They ride better than Kings, but, at the expensive of handling. Lovells seem to run a lower spring rate comparing with Kings.

yeah, and Ford Fella... just wondering if you've got anything other than "DON'T GET LOVELLS" to say?

EDIT: I Know you've used SLs, but lows and SLs are the same dimensions, just softer spring rate in the SLs. I would rate my lows over King lows.

agreed, day to day driving lovells are a nicer spring and in the low range they still handle remarkably well...

Just going on my experience with different setups. My old man had a KF with Kings super low fronts and low rears with stock shocks.

It was by far a more comfortable ride than my old KJ (see avatar) with Lovells super lows all round and KYB shocks.

Edit - Sorry, just read that you were talking about Lovells lows. I can't comment on them.

I'm running 19's with king lows and KYB shocks and have no issues at all.

I have Kings SP and Boge shocks in mine and if you are after a low look then don't go the SP's. But if its handling and ride comfort you want, then by all means go with the combo i have.

I currently have the Kings SL/L combo in my Rada but the rear needs to be lower so will be putting in Lovells SL in the back soon. A Whiteline sway bar will also go on to make the handling a bit better.

ive got Lovells SL in my TE, and i love em, nice low ride, not harsh ether on the road, and the car still handles better over stock springs, i just now want to get my new shocks, and rear sway bar in

How much do sway bars cost?

fronts 180
rear around 200-220

Front is a Pain to do cos you have to jack the motor up to slide the old bar out and the new one in the rear is pie walk and a 30min DIY job.
