Thinking of buying one from ebay and installing it myself then going to an auto electrician to pick up the wiring, but was wondering what the best position was to fit the display.
So if anybody has one, where is the display fitted and is the power cable hidden?
It's a second gen it will be going into

I stuck my mic to the top of the sterring column, People rarely notice it, and I can talk with the windows down and they can still hear me on the other end...

Do you reckon the in dash CD is a better option than the Nokia hands free?
I suppose with a new bluetooth CD I also get the option of connecting an ipod direct, 2 birds, one stone?
I can get the Nokia off ebay for about $215 plus fitting

Looks fancy, i dont know much about it, but having it all in one is fantastic.
with the BT1 model, when a call comes though you just hit any button on the cd player and it answers, so it'll do the same thing, but this way you get a new CD player while your at it!

Looks like the way to go, and I reckon I can fit that as I already know the radio wiring, now have enough information to start looking.
I assume when a call comes through and you hit any button on the CD player it mutes it?
How do you make a call?

TBH I can't recall making a phone call, mainly becuase hey im driving and i should be doing that :P
but yes, you hit any button on the CD player besides ATT and PWR (i think...havent had the car for a while ya know lol) and it answers the call through your car stereo, to end it, same deal, just hit a button on the cd player.
Most decks will allow you to call from your phone, as in, you press call on your phone and it puts it through the hands free.
Some around the $350+ mark now have the ability to transfer your phonebook from phone* into the H/U. Also allow you to dial the number and press call.....
*My pioneer is having major issues with this, so I gave up. If im driving I rarely call anyone, its mainly if someone calls me that I can answer handsfree.
