Gday guys, i posted earlier about fixing some parts (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61315), and the other night i got around to trying to get the gear surround facia out, so when i go to the wreckers i can get the donor one out easily. i got the cup holders and that piece out fine, but couldnt work out how to get the gear surround out? "Parker" says it just unclips but everything seems pretty firm around that area and or it just doesnt want to unclip!
Anyone got any tips on how to get this part out? where the clips are etc.

I'm tipping you'd have to start fiddling around with some of the screws down there, it definitely doesn't look as if it would click out... how would it? the gear knob would be in the way?

You have to remove the whole consol first....screws on the bottom at rear,then two screws near the gear lever,then you have to unclip the side pieces from near handbrake to get consol out,then if its like my tippy there are four screws that hold the top of the lever on.....so yeah ,it doesnt just unclip...just push and pull and find where the resistence is coming from ....and sus out whats holding it and unscrew /unclip;

i've never really attempted to take that particular piece out, but i've had a look at it and i dont think there ae any screws holding it. its just cliped on really tight. you can take the gear knob out if you want, all it is, is 1 screw on the front of the stick, undo that and it comes straight off.

my P, R, etc plate was out of line so i wanted to replace it
took me so long to get out

Oh ****! Looks a lil diff to the 4sp tippy surround. I just got 4 lil lugs to unclip n it comes off.
My bad.
Still.....dont give up man.
