if second gens are the same as 3rd gens, then take the whole door of and the handles as well. do you know how to do this its quite easy. lots of screws and popping, its all normal

Yeah, You'll have to take the card off.
Then try and undo each clip from behind, or if you CBF, just rip the POS off and glue it back on again :D

Its only a few screws then a firm pull to get the cards off so just take the whole thing off.

j-styl - what you need is a hacksaw, an angle grinder, a blow torch and BBQ spatula.

Yep, take the whole card off, the trim parts have these little plastic rods sticking out the back which hold them to the door card via metal clips; if you wrench them off, you will break these bits, you'll probably break them even if you are careful.
If you do break them, then follow tuffy's advice and just glue the trim back onto the door card.

screws around the outside of the door skin. then the screws in the skin(take them all if you cant figure which ones are holding it on. also easier if you unhook the doorhandle from its wire (i broke three before i realised). also need the window winder doovie assuming you have manual windows. then just pop off skin lift up. from there pretty self explanatory.
actually was pretty self explanatory from right before "screws" lol

Actually, another thing to note is the metal claw clip things that hold the card on up the top, best way to get these off without ripping up your metal is to get your head under the card, get a wide screwdriver, and lever the claws up/out. Saves gouging the metal trying to rip the thing upwards.

I re-trimmed the door cards in my old TR exec with white vinyl (and made a matching gear boot :D )
what i did is as follows.
- remove door skins, pretty easy.
- cut off all the little plastic pins to remove the door cards.
- ripped the carpet off and sanded back to clean plastic.
- drilled holes through the door cards where the plastic pins were and countersunk the holes.
- glued the vinyl on with contact adhesive.
- poked holes through the vinyl where i drilled the holes.
- bolted them to my doors using stainless steel, countersink allen-head bolts with nylon locknuts.
-
I still have all the door skins (and plenty of other stuff) from my old exec, so if anyone wants them maybe i'd consider selling them, as i'm planning to do it all over again in the TR elite i have now.
Only it will be black leather this time round :P

Do you have any KS speaker pods by any chance?:P

Sorry, no speaker pods.
And i won't be doing my door cards for a fair while still, i don't have the time at the moment, and leather is expensive.
I'm not even sure where to buy the leather from, does anyone know anywhere around melbourne that i can get leather from? and how much i should expect to pay?
