I don't care how trivial you think this thread is but I would appreciate opinions on my new indicators :D

I am not sure if I like them yet, but I think the orange ones stuck out like dogs balls after I changed the side repeaters..... Anyway, let me know what you think

Cheers mate, Yeha I see what you and other people have done with the black outline, not sure if I'm a fan of it yet...... although things tend to grow on me.

The worst thing about all this fiddling is my car is looking less and less like a verada!

I put them on just clear but they looked teh ghay next to the parras, oh well too late now, although I can clean them with metho or something to get rid of the tint right if I ever want to?

To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm happy with it.... just had to change them after changing the side ones......

Hmmmmm 3 votes each way.....

It does look pretty grayed out at the front now, but the orange ones looked silly IMO with the chrome rims and chrome surrounds for my clear sides.... And the plain clear front indicators looked EXEC BR0!

i will get some more photos in the morning.....

I like it, though its a bit hard to see in those pics. I have seen the stripe outline, and I dont like it, its just so obvious like its been stuck on, and hence have stuck with orange.

But I think the dark overall tint looks good, first good one I seen was yann89's, after seeing that I think im going to follow the same route.

would it be possible for you to open up the indicator, and spray the silver reflective part gray (just like the gray part in the parras) then remove the orange plastic piece that covers the light and buy some orange illuminating globes, that would look pretty sweet and it would match the parra's

orange ones look stocky, like all orange plastic.

Im interested with Omars suggestion, and seeing as im in the same boat at the moment, having just got parras, and realising stock clear ones with paras look absolutely ****e, im trying to think of what to do.
Is Omars suggestion possible?

Hmmmm that's a good idea, would spraying that reflective stuff make it too hard to see though? I suppose tinting it kinda does that anyway, Might strip off the tint and try it out....

Well rather then make an utterly pointless thread about it, why not just put them in and if you dont like them take them out, not as if you are rebuilding an engine or doing a gearbox conversion. You can change them easily enough, also you are arguing most of the valid points in this thread, so the end question is, why bother posting this at all?

the way i see it, if you have 2 working indicators that are harder to see than the standard ones, you're still better than then people who have two working indicators who refuse to use them or dont know how :P

i think that mod is very do able, if you can find a set of cheap indicators at the wreckers buy them and try it out

anyway back on topic, if you're serious about doin it, take your car to a place that makes paint and see if you can get them to match the exact black/gray colour that's used in your parras

wont look good if you have different shades

When i had my black corners on,i had a few people tell me that it became dificult to see them during the day, illustrated by peoplewaiting til 2secs before i actually turned to pull out. Didnt have any troubles wit the boys in blue though.

I say ditch them. not nice as they're not the same as anything else on the car. Thisis why I don't want to change guard repeaters to clear as it makes the rest of the car not match at all...I don't like them.

Also, have you thought about realigning the whole front of the car? it looks as though everything is getting sucked into the engine bay...

GT-Pete

It's a fine art. takes many attempts to perfect. lol

Well I can see it from the pics and i dunno, soemthing on the front is bugging me. then again, if it's been in an accident then iunderstand. I just thought there was something wrong with the grille. lol. looks like the grille is sitting too far into the bonnet that's all.

Also, did you just tint over the top of the clear indicators or...If you're wanting to have another go, I'll duck down to the wreckers this weekend and get you a pair send em up (millions of magnas at the wreckers near mine. lol)

I'd try turps ofver metho. they will send your indicators matte though, so you'll need clear coat aswell.

I say go with the orange dude. seriously, they did look good.

OR, get a new set of indicators, remove the orange lens inside, LIGHTLY tint the plastic (from inside) then tape a line around the inside (leaving an exposed edge around the border) and tint that even darker. Try to keep the corners that silvery colour so it'll go with the side indicators aswell.

would it be possible for you to open up the indicator, and spray the silver reflective part gray (just like the gray part in the parras) then remove the orange plastic piece that covers the light and buy some orange illuminating globes, that would look pretty sweet and it would match the parra's

If you do decide to do this make sure you use a gloss paint so that the light will reflect off the black. You're less likely to get done for it that way than if it was a matte finish. I'd try this myself but can't be bothered and am pretty happy with mine at the moment. Give it a go, I'm curious.

Yo, Pete - you are not suppose to have unwelcome colour or grandpa stripes on a "luxury" car, it looks cheaper with orange imo.

for example:
http://www.aoqz76.dsl.pipex.com/Web%20Page%20Components/Wallpaper/Cars/Black%20BMW%20M3%20Coupe.jpg
http://germancarscene.com/wp-content/uploads/mercedes-supercar-31-08-06.jpg
http://www.cg-cars.com/forum/gallery/files/4/4/3/VinceFX_Reventon09PhotoAE_1280_original.jpg

As you can see, none of these cars have colours out of place (ie. orange).

Nobody knows what a verada 2nd gen looks like anyways, so clean up the boot and rip off the Xi badges, if you are keen on showing off get some KJ verada badges, and stick them on calais style. Thats the classy way to do badging.
