Anyone got the part number for this? Or any info about it? Is it actually the exact same item as a evo6 RS or not?
cheers

From what I've read in a few magazine articles, I know that:
- The rear (LSD) diff and the front open diff is out of an Evo 6 RS/Evo 7
- The centre diff (viscous coupling unit) and from an Evo 6

Gremlin,
It is the same ratio as the EVO.
It is not really a final drive ratio with the Mitsubishi system.
The final drive ration is actually controlled by the centre diff, as this is in the same position as the FWD diff in the gearbox.
The Transfer case takes this lowered speed then then multiplies up using a 0.3 something ratio to feed into the prop shafts to the rear diff.
All the rear diff does is to divide this speed down a 3.something to effectively create a 1:1 transfer system from the front to the back of the car.
I would very much suspect that the Aus engineers did not change the diff casing as the conversion cost in the transmission plant would be much to high. They had to create a new rear subframe to mount the diff anyway.
If you are in Sydney you are welcome to Pm me to come and have a squizz under the back of my car.
