Love my TJ Advance, but the greatest weakness of the car is the lack of steering feel.
Does anyone know if the TJ Sports had same steering setup as the Advance, Exec etc?
Second question is did Veradas have softer suspension that Magnas? and what are the differences. Thanks guys, input welcomed.

the only real difference in steering is the ralliart magna and the TL/TW uses the steering pump out of it. and yes veradas have softer suspension (because there a luxury car).

When i lowered mine with king lows it made a lot of difference, do a search theres a billion threads on lowering and stuff.

if you want the feel back in your steering, get a thrusted wheel allignment. on un balanced surfaces ull feel the wheels moving around through the steering wheel and ull feel alot more in control of the car. especially on a fast tackoff, ud b suprissed how much the wheels are sliding round once u get it. you actually get better steering feel from a better suspension set up. The TJ advance probably doesn't have a rear sway bar for starters, so get one and upgrade the front one perhaps.
edit" other question. the veradas are pretty much the same set up but with a softer spring/damper rate

I acheived a better feel in my wheel on a '93 Lancer GSR by fitting much harder bushes to the steering rack.....

As well as suspension setup all these can give you a very communicative steering feel...

You can look at fitting a antilift/castor kit as well, now Whiteline no longer make the KCA-358X and you have to use the superpro eviq which ill get the part no for, apparently these bring a lot of the lightness out and give firmer steering and better control.

Does anyone know, is it simply the pump that is different on the ralliart, TL & TL. If so simply get the appropriate pump from a wrecker and fit to the TJ. Some cars have an adjustment on the hydraulics. Maybe the TJ can be adjusted. The Magnas have speed sensitive power steering, maybe this can be adjusted/modified. Anyone steering specialists out there/anyone who worked at Mitsu?

So the Sports it seems has the same setup as the Magna Executive.....pretty poor.

The setup may be the same but I believe the Sports/VRX springs are lower.

However I never knew that Veradas had softer suspension! I'm sure that is the case, but just out of curiosity, can anyone verify that for sure? Not being mean or anything, but that's an interesting point.

I realise the KJ is pretty soft compared to equivalent Magnas, now it seems to make sense. I just thought the shocks and springs were saggy and old.

Consequently, do Veradas sit at the same height as Executives? Surely they can't be higher!

Verada suspension is setup for the American market, its softer than Magna equivalent. They do sit slightly lower than Magna's though.

If so simply get the appropriate pump from a wrecker and fit to the TJ.

Do a search, it was recently discussed elsewhere on the forum. The consensus seemed to be that you could grab a Ralliart/TL pump and whack it in a TJ, but no one has done it themselves yet.

I agree, I noticed that the steering had a bit more feel after I had mine lowered.

Hmm...so 3rd Gen Veradas have softer but lower suspension? Another cool bit of Mitsubishi trivia I learnt today.

Going back to the 2nd Gens, did the KR and KS have different suspension to the TR/TS? As far as I know Mitsubishi didn't have a sports suspension option at all on the TR and TS.

(Let's not include the KR xi with its problematic whizz-bang electronic airbag suspension here of course)

Maybe KR's just look lower because of the massive bumpers, and KS look to be sagging at the rear because of the longer rear bumper. I don't know.......
