i'm gonna hook up those speakers on the dash as a centre channel, just so there is something making sound when i'm actually using 5.1.

i've got a small amp hidden in the centre console, just cant figure out how to get cables up there!

how have others that have put their tweeters up there done it?

its easy, just drop them down from the top, shine a torch up from underneath till you see the wires.

hahahah yeah i know its not the best spot for a centre channel, but it'll only be so i can hear people speak when watching DVD's etc.... everything else is only listened in stereo

i had a trim made up to replace the top air vents, but i wasnt that keen on it in the end, and it would mean completely blocking the vents

anywho... just finished installing the centre "channels"

the passenger side one is a bit more of a pain with all the airbag/glovebox/aircon stuff in the way, but i got it all done with only removing one little bit of trim :P

they do sound about what i expected... nothing amazing but i can actually hear dialog in movies now! but when i've got music playing it automatically returns back to stereo and they don't do anything :D

I've been wanting to put a centre channel in mine, but can't find a small enough amp [physical] to use. What amp did you stick in?

the amp i used is from a Clarion 1/2 din centre channel, not 100% sure one power/ohm ratings but at the volume they'll be used i don't see there being any issues... cant find the ohm rating for the Infinity speakers anyway! The stock dash speakers are apparently 12ohm! so if the Infinity's are about the same, it should be running the amp at 6 ohm?

no pics of the installation... just the usual RCA to AMP to speaker job :P
