I bought my car without the pocket on top of the pioneer. but am quite sick of seeing through to the wiring now.
at first i was thinking a pretty equaliser or something. which i don't need (i think).
so my excitement came when i saw this: Pioneer XDV-P650 (http://www.ryda.com.au/Pioneer-XDV-P650-In-Dash-6-Disc-DVD-CD-Player-p/xdvp650.htm)
now that would be great. but it is too much money, and well, i have a DVD player in dash already, which i don't use anyway.
please give me suggestions on how i can make use of that space. i don't want a gap or a cheap pockets as well.
or tell me pioneer made an in dash cd stacker! i can't find one!
Thanks

You could maybe get a Ralliart Evo gauge cluster.
http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Ralliart-Sports-1-DIN-Triple-Meter-Gauge-Kit-CZ4A-Lancer-Evolution-X-54164#
Although you'd have no use for the boost gauge. :P
Edit - Maybe this Defi gauge cluster would be a better option.

http://www.defi-shop.com/product/din/din_top.htmlBoth suggestions are horrendously expensive.
I found this as an idea to fill the other pocket -

Just a pretty pocket basically. $99. Noone stocks them, order in only AFAIK. JB hifi can get them, I've asked.

Not bad, although it'll probably only work with an Alpine H/U.
My iPod is fine in the centre console hidden away.

like that? i was thinking, if it were to be true surround, i would need one of those 5.1 channel amps, ey? which i don't think will be necessary.
That alpine pocket is the nicest pocket out.
thanks everyone for their suggestions, any more?
no one knows if pioneer has an in dash cd stacker?

If you get the defi gauges for 900 your doing pretty well, one of there HUD systems is around 1800 by the time you buy the sensors and brain unit

I'd keep looking around for the Pioneer XDV-P650 Stacker
Just keep ringing around getting prices, who knows you may even snap one up for cost price somewhere if you keep tring. I'd estimate $600-700

yeah, you're right...
i found this! http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17067
but postage is $149! still works out to be $600USD. i already have a dvd player(which i don't use) so it would be overkill, the only way to justify this purchase is if it was cheap.
and my biggest question would be, whether i can still use my AVM-P8000R, or even my 6 CD-stacker, cause i think they use the IP BUS connection. are there any pioneer forums?

I can't see why it wouldn't work,
download the user/installation manual for the unit from the pioneer website and check it with the screeen unit manual. ;)

yeah, i just did..!
jeez its going to get complicated, i'm gonna have to print the manual to the something that i don't have, and sit in my car and trace everything...
from the looks of it it will add MP3 playback! but it also looks like i will have to have 3 remote controls all up now... i already have one for avx and one for avm...

Move the thing to the other din then, so while its out its covered by a screen?

haha, yeah, that's one option. that's how i had it originally, but its even closer to the climate controls, plus i think it looks better lower...
would like some functionality. anyway...
thanks guys

Yeah i'd leave the screen in the bottom din, how often do you stack cd's whilst driving?
Besides you can always tuck in the screen while playing movies/music to load the stacker if you like.
Will be a good setup :D

http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/Ralliart-Sports-1-DIN-Triple-Meter-Gauge-Kit-CZ4A-Lancer-Evolution-X-54164#"Now Only : USD 1042.35" Only?
I vote for moving the HU to the lower DIN area & then get a CD Stacker.
...or even just pocket like SupremeMoFo posted or a simple CD/DVD holder (no electrics - just the storage pocket thingy).
