View Full Version : CAT oxygen sensor
Does any of you know where the oxygen sensor is located? I'm talking about the sensor which sits somewhere on the exhaust and tells the ECU if the engine is running rich or lean
I want to remove the CAT for good and replace it with a straight pipe, but I've read on some websites that the oxygen sensor will be messed up then
Does the Magna (TJ) has one? I've looked all over across the exhaust and didn't see any wires/sensor like thing.

It's located right before the CAT dude ;)
if it's before the CAT that means I can safely remove it?

you wont harm your car by taking it out but if your talking safety for the kids you drive past it is never safe to remove the cat. You will release somewhere like ten times as much polution. Do the world a favor and leave it there

If only all Big Boyz Toyz players think like you.. sadly, they don't and to be honest, Arun keeping the cat won't make a difference when so many other millions are doing it :(

Hmmm........That's a strange attitude Nick
You can buy a Hi Flow Cat. Why mess with the cat and O2 sensor, risking damage, for a few extra kW?
Should we cheat/lie/steal/kill/maim/destroy because there's millions doing that too? Or do we have standards and an example to set?
*climbs down from high horse and runs for cover*
one more CAT-less engine won't make a difference for the already super poluted mother earth
The school bus spits more exhaust gases for 1km than my vr-x in 1000kms
and even if it's a "free flow" CAT it's still a barrier for the engine's power
just try running with a gas mask all the time and you'll know how your engine feels at high revs

Sounds like you're gonna need a gas mask if you go to Dubai!!! :D
Hmm........Millions of people saying "I won't make a difference". Lucky that's not what's happenning in the world ;)
Do V8 Supercars run a Cat? If not, they must have some kind of permit from the EPA.
Otherwise someone would be writing them tickets in the pits
