Hey everyone :D

Im not sure if many of you have installed aftermarket gauges but im about to buy 2 for my new ride. Got a sweet place to install them and they should look really trick.

But as I can only have two im curious as to what everyone would get if they had two to choose from.

Im looking an an oil pressure one and trans temp one.

Any thoughts?

Pimping up your car Blake?

Where are you going to put them? I'd get something that's actually useful and put it out of sight from the outside. Personally I can't stand tacked on gauges unless they are used for a reason, (other than rice), and they're fitted tastefully.

Go ultimate rice: buy an RSM - then you can have lots of gauges, in a neat little ricey greenie bluey thingie...

These make the Autometer ones look booring!

Depending on you're budget these Ralliart gauges are $2123!

honest question, why do you need a guage? How do you use them effectively? What can you do if you have one?

What can you do if you have one?good question, they're not really useful unless you're racing.... or have a really volatile system that you'ld want to monitor.... for turbo's boost gauges are fun.... battery charge is also handy when you've got auxillary gear hooked up... like stereo's or in dad's case anything that he's converted to 12V and will plug into the power point he's installed on the tray of his Patrol!!!

I disagree,

When giving you car a good thrashing I think its allways handy to see how your cars coping...

The trans temp is a good idea in my opinion as I know heat is an auto's worst enemy and while holdiing gears and dishing out punishment this is where they really heat up. A gauge monitoring this would give you an idea of just how much your tranny is heating up and when to back off.

Oil pressure is handy, but doesn't do much unless your racing...

These will be nicely hidden and won't be rice at all :D

oil pressure is fun :D . my digital dash has oil pressure, give it a boot full and smash it round and watch the little bar jump up and down :D

Get an air/fuel ratio guage, they look pretty funky as the lights always flicker different colours, this is my choice whenever i get around to it
