The only difference between the Ralliart and TJ steering is the pressures...even front wheel alignment is the same...see MMAL workshop manual. So maybe the pump is not different, only the pressure switches/relief valves. When I looked at my PS pump noticed there is an electrical lead going to the back of the pump...probably the signal wire from ECU to control amount of PS action relative to road speed. Maybe this is all we need to change. Don't know where the other pressure regulating devices are located. Anyone got a spare pump lying around you can look at and maybe unscrew some controllers.....check part nos against Ralliart??

The pump is not where you want to change pressures. There will be a pressure relief valve on the rack. It is teh one that controls pressures fed to the rack. The pump needs to feed an oversupply of pressure and fluid volume so you don't run out of fluid or pressure. Locking up a steering unit mid turn is not fun.
If there is only one lead that you see, it's probably teh earth for teh steering column.
Anyway, on Valiants, I used to fit shorter releif valve springs to the steering boxes to reduce teh amount of asist. Worked very well.
