Hi all, this is my 1st post here and after a lil advice/help..


I have a 91 TR, and my battery light has been on for a cpl of weeks.. Yesterday i had a flat battery :(

Anyhow, i purchased a brand new battery, and after diving for a lil bit, my battery light is still on.

Im concerned that in another 2 weeks, my brand new $95 battery will be flat.

And im too broke to take to mechanic..sorry..

But any help or advice would be greatly appreciated..

get your Alternator checked out ASAP, the alternator is what charges your battery. Check the connections on it, make sure they are tight and secure, if it still isnt charging then it is probably time for a replacement. Go to a few wreckers and ask around it is much cheaper then buying a new one. I got mine for $45 with 3 months warranty from a wreckers, wheras a brand new one is around $180.

Where abouts are u from?

Normally it's the alternator bushes only. Take it to an auto-electrician to fix for you. I had mine fixed for $5 (I knew the worker though).

I had asuspicion when the battery light stayed on that it may be connected to the alter. but im not that car savvy.. and i figured a place like this would be the best to gain valuable, and free, infomation..
