hey guys, quick question, and YES i have done a search.
could a turbo manifold from a 3000gt fit onto a 3.5L engine, becuase the 3000gt is a 3.0L
and i know there are differences between the 3.5L and the 3.0L exhaust manifolds.
is it possible to modify them to fit?
EDIT: TURBO manifolds

You could if you wanted to. I don't see why not.
I've got a pair of factory N/A GTO/3000GT manifolds if you want those.

Fairly sure the ports on the flanges are a different shape, squarer than ours?
I guess you could adapt them onto the stock flanges.

if the NA ones bolt up the TT manifolds will.

turbo (twin cam heads) are oval ports..
our single cam heads have round ports..
bolt pattern is the same
you can port cast, to make sure it's not hitting a square edge.. but for all the trouble of trying to get cast GTO manifolds..
vs some relativley cheap custom log manifolds..? would you worry about it?? plus then you cna put what ever turbo's you want on it.. and it would flow more than the cast stock manifold..
(log manifold would be $300ish from a fabricator, depending on his labour rate)

Yeah good idea, as im looking into this atm for project, you will need them to hug the block well, otherwise depending on what turbo's you use you will require slimline thermos/moving of the radiator to clear everything. Ive been quoted 550 for coated MS units. Unsure of pipe lengths and widths though atm.
Oh and with T3 flanges

Used turbo manifolds from the states are going for about $100 a paid (cast)
But now that the dollas has gone to **** its not that cheap as it was a fortnight ago :doubt:
the 3000GT ones are pretty compact design units aswell, as the heads are bigger they need a smaller manifold so in a 3rd gen SOHC it shouldnt be any problem.

Would depend on what turbo you are planning though as well i think, the 3000gt are a resonably compact unit, but they might not be compact enough to clear the acc's of the 3rd gen engine bay.

would only want smallish turbos as it would be twin turbo, and i dont want much lag,

i'd suggest a pair of TF035's
they come factory on GT foresters.. they are physically the same size as a TD04L, but have slighly different wheels and housing machining.. they are a bit more responsive..
heaps of guys run TD04L's and TF035's on 1.3L starlet GT's.. they tend to start making full noise around the 3.5k mark (tune, manifolds size and length, cooler size, cooler piping layout/dia all have a massive effect)..
so on somthing thats more like 1.75L (ie one bank) it should be pretty torquey..
if i had a couple thousand spare i would definitly put twin TF035's on my Verada.. and use a nice little compact manifold like we did for my GT starlet (just used the stock turbo) on that..
