Looking at gear knob options for my manual conversion. Regardless of what i go for it will be retrimmed in leather to match my steering wheel. As will the manual gear boot.

1. Retrim the current Magna knob in leather.

2. Purchase a 380 knob and get it retrimmed. How much are these any way?

3. Purchase a Holden VT Commodore 5spd knob and get it retrimmed. Will it fit the thread on the shifter?

What do you guys think?

personally i've never liked the VT knobs, they are huge and IMO would look out of place in your car.

Momo Combat in red/black metal/leather. No shift pattern so technically not legal but could always have it engraved.

What's the thread of the Magna manual shifter arm that the knob screws onto? 10mm?

There is 2 different screw points, one thicker than the other.

Use the stock one. I went through this whole deal with my old second gen and the original one always looked the best.

Agreed - I've got an after-market one on at the moment, but only because I wore through the leather on my stock TJ Sports one. As soon as I get it re-trimmed it's going back on - it just suits the car better and looks the goods.

Yep, was thinking about changing my shifter but the stock one is actually pretty nice and does suit the car, just get it retrimmed.

Yeah mate, we've heard it a million times before, "it's not how big it is, it's what you do with it that counts", right?

Kidding. But I know what you mean, if you don't have a short shift, having a lower-sitting gear knob is the second best thing. The great thing about the stock item is that it already sits quite low, and it's nice and heavy.
