Hey all,

Definitely time to throw some 18's on my car. But I'm seriously torn between three designs. I can't decide whether the racing style, more complex/blingy style or a perfectly symmetrical style of rim looks better on a magna. So yeah, I'm hoping someone can tell me which will looks better out of these three designs:

5 spoke more racing style - http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=306

More complex design - http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=1687

Symmetrical type - http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=945

Cheers guys - seriously struggling with the decision here lol

Definitely not the first ones (http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=306) - they're that common these days, people have been getting them cheap off eBay.

The second ones (http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=1687) look good and will suit the Magna. Also, because of the big lip, gutter rash is likely only to affect the lip, as the spokes are well out of harm's way.

The third ones (http://www.tempetyres.com.au/products_closeup.asp?part=&part_no=945) look okay, but they'll be easy to scratch and they'd suit a small car better, like a Golf or Swift. They're really hatchback mags.

On the balance the second ones are my personal choice but it's really a matter for you - mags are really only a matter of personal preference, unless you race your car competitively.

yeah I'd go the second ones, still be a bugger to clean but!

id say the 3rd ones tbh
the 2nd ones are getting overdone a bit, they look great but a lot of magna guys have them pretty sure, and having a dish will make them look smaller if you're only getting 18s

the 3rd ones'd look heaps hot i think

The second pair definitely. Dont do the first as other members are right they are just are too common and are now really looked down upon.

do they look a decent size? Is your car lowered too cos apparently that makes em look bigger and I'm getting that done at the same time.

What colour is our car? pics?

Honestly, I dont like any of them.

There all knockoffs from popular brands, but are ugly.
no offence

I like the second ones in general design, but find them just a little too fussy. See mine for comparison.

Okay, let's set it straight,

It all depends on the sort of look you're after. Sporty, sport (if u get the dif) or lux.

The first ones are sporty but are so very common these days. Also, the thck and thin wont match the 2g shape. These are a no-go

The second ones will match the TR/TS shape (view Hitman20) and will look good on a white or charcoal car but won't match any other colours. The lip will make them appear smaller, but if this doesnt phase you, then i'd choose these for sports look. Needs much lowering also.

The third set is just lux. For my setup I'd probably go these ones because they have a more luxurious look to them. They won't be any easier to sctatch than other machined rims so that wouldnt be a problem, though anything bigger than 17's in this will probably look like overkill...

My personal opinion, (reference to my car) is the third set. They're luxurious looking rims that'll set off the 2g shape well because of the tendancy to flare in the middle of the straight-edged spokes...

The design studio at Dolce Wheels is world renown, for creating wheels that break new ground and set new trends.

Yeah, in ugliness.

Out of the three wheels you posted the second are probably the best, but the problem with rims are they are very subjective. I'd look around a bit more before making a decision, don't want to buy then have regrets.

That second wheel Woob posted looks hot!! The first has been overdone, although that's not important to some (it's a good looking rim, hence the popularity).

Why does everyone say the HP Design Onyx rims are so common? I only know of them on 2 cars, one is Slamd6's old TE in a chrome 20", and Nemesis with 18"s. I know of no body else on the club

I'd go the 2nd ones though.

meh. I like them and so do the manufacturers. When I get defected for a panel filter or a sound system I'll let you know...

And where do you get "neon stickers"? I would like to see/buy one :)

I bet they do - it's free advertising.

If they gave me a discount on an amp, headunit or speakers then I'd consider giving them advertising space on my car.

It's the same thing with those stupid number plate surrounds you see with the dealership details on them from where they bought the car. Give me $500 off the price of the car and I'll consider leaving them on there.

Also, you are telling thieves to "break into me, I have an Alpine sound system just begging to be ripped out" and joyriders to "steal me, I have been modded and will be awesome to give a good thrashing"

should find that they are about $2100 inc tyres, balance, and fitting for the 18" version. tyres are generally Maxxis MA-V1's. 20's were about $3100 for the package iirc, 19's $2600

Did they do something wrong?

Seriously - go with what you want because ultimately its your tastes that matter. Having other people like them is just a bonus :)

The first ones I was offered $1400 with Zeetex tyres which I declined.

I paid $1800 for the same with Hankook Ventus 405 HRII 235/40/R18 XLs.
