Hey all,

I'm wanting to put in some of those flash Philips bulbs but I'm not sure what I should be getting. My magna's an 01 and I dunno if I need H1, H7 etc... Also can someone who has them tell me if hey actually look good too? Like are they blueish type light and a lot better than stock??

Cheers guys!

Phillips bulbs aren't actually HID's... Just high output bulbs.

HID's require a ballast and such, bit of a ****-around for something that produces less light than a Bluevision globe.

See here, a sticky at the top of this section.

Have a good read of that thread above posted by Luci it will answer all of your questions. I have them in mine, check out my ride thread for pics of them. They don't give out as good light beam but I kept my high beams as normal halogen globes so its no problem

I recently replaced all my headlight bulbs.
I looked around for the Osram Silverstars but couldn't find anyone who stocked Osram bulbs (in the timeframe I had to look around).
I ended up buying the Philips Vision Plus bulbs. They seem to give off a good amount of light and are not too 'yellow'.
Thanks heathyoung!

I also picked up a set of Phillips Blue Vision bulbs for the parkers, but one of my headlights has a different parker bulb to the other  so I had to go out and buy another set of parkers (like a very small normal bulb with pins) for one headlight. Now I have one nice white parker and one 'yellow-ish' parker. :doubt:

Blue LED parkers ftw. Anyways exec headlights are H4 globes - About $100 for a set of CrystalVision's - I have them, they look wicked with blue parkers. Make sure you take the old parkers out - they set off the colour for the entire assembly if left in.

Blew a headlight bulb the other night, looks like I'm up for another Narva.

Should do my parkers while I'm at it, crappy little yellow things.

They aren`t illegal for being to bright, far from it actually, but for the 5000k colour temperature, they are the same "lux" or lumen output as a standard run of the mill 60/55w
H4!,get Philips X-treme vision, they actually offer more light on the road as opposed to less but "whiter" light that is offered by the crystal, diamond vison stuff etc,the only benfit of white or bluish light is it makes cat eyes, signs etc stand out more, thats it,but the trade off is less light on the road, not good enough in my opinion

If you want the highest light output possible, get a heavy loom made up for the headlights that incorporate relays and fit a set of Phillips Rally 90/100 globes, they, will absolutely slaughter diamond vison globes for lumen output, only thing it is misssing is the "cool" blue colour,I prefer more light than coolness anyday!
