View Full Version : Find me a fuse!
I was just changing the interior lightbulb and it arced while putting it in. The arc has half reset the ECU, taken out the interior light, boot light.. and the central locking/alarm.
strange that the lights and the alarm would be taken out together like that, but maybe they are on the same fuse.
Myq uestion is: I have been through the engine fuses and interior fuses and cannot find any blown fuses or interior light fuses at all. Does anyone know what I should be looking for.. and where in the world is it?
Any help is greatly appreciated, because even locked, I don't like leaving the car unarmed overnight.

Free Tip: Just because a fuse doesnt 'look' blown doesnt mean its ok.
Ive been caught out by this many, many times.
Other than that..... Wouldn't have a clue lol

There's 2 fuses for interior lighting, replace them both?
i couldnt see either one.. there is a pic of an eye looking at a book on the cover (interior light i trust).. but inside the fuse bank its just a blank spot. nothing there. unless im looking at it really retardedly or something?

In the fuse box under the bonnet. Remove fuse box cover. You will find a yellow rectangle plug thing.. there i two fuses in that. pull them both out. check them both and replace.. Thats ECU and Interior light togeher..
Id prob replace both those fuses. One will def be dead..

Have you checked the owner's manual to see what you're looking for.

ill change the yellow ones now, ta
ok another question... how in the world do you get the fuses out of the yellow plastic holder thing?

That sucks.
Interior lamp is #11 in the engine bay, ECU is #9 under the dash, it'll be obvious if I mixed those 2 up on the way back from the car.
Um - there's a fuse puller under the dash (well, there should be, mine's missing) but there's a couple of fuses which couldn't be removed from memory.
you are gentlemen and scholars :D thanks greatly for the effort... i would take a good guess that the reason the nterior light has been hit and miss since i got the car is because the fuse was only trickling power, and tonight it gave in. my central locking was also quite difficult to engage, and is now perfect :)
I can sleep easy tonight!

The yellow thing needs to be pulled up to release the fuse, they are locked in
