Hi Gents and Gals

I am having a hard time locating some 0ga earth cable for my audio install....i only need about a metre all up - for my amps, battery ground and engine ground straps.......our local audio stores dont keep it in stock.....i am just wondering if anyone here who has done an install with this guage earth cable may have a metre or so still laying around.........i would be willing to pay for it plus postage of course

cheers

Just use normal 0ga power cable, same thing different colour, Must be running a decent size amp to be requiring some 0ga.....

As Magna00 said use the power cabling, same thing

Also why do you need 0 gauge? Wank factor?

Also why do you need 0 gauge? Wank factor? His sub amp's capable of 1kW at 1ohm (presumably what the sub is running as). 0, 1, or 2 AWG would do.

go to an electrical supplier store and get some 45sqmm cable. same as 0ga, just not as pretty.

How many of you guys have used quality branded cable ?

I swear the Audison 0awg I used to have with, was alot easier to work with (read, flexiable) then Jaycar 4awg ;)

Secondly. All power cable is the same (pretty much, Audison is slightly different to normal welders or so power cable), but, the cable jackets between car cable, and non-car cable is different. You will find alot of the time car cable is easier to work with, aswell, as having a thicker outside to prevent against sharp metal edges etc etc

Previously when I used 0awg in my install I got it from Jaycar.

Its worth running, even for multiple amps, I ran 0awg to the boot into a distro then 3x 4awg to my amps. My opinion anyway.

For a 1kw amp, 4ga is usually enough if you have about a 3m run, if you go to 5m then you may get away with 4ga but 2ga would be less restictive.

I have Stinger 0ga for the earthing kit, not as pretty or easy to bend as the Audison cable but still does what it needs to. I love the Audison cables. :doubt:

Read up about something called voltage drop.

Seconded.

Electrical supply stores will usually work on British standard.

You would be after 00 BSG, or as Woob said, about 45mm cable.

BOC orange welding cable - cheap as chips

Stinger is exxy for what it is, but sexy, if you want the job done right this is your best bet

Jaycar only sells 2ga

0ga is sexy

Some Benefits: http://aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11349

Most stinger outlets should be able to order this in for you, otherwise reputable car audio stores can get it.

Peace
