hey guys,

I was after some help regarding rims. At the moment I have 17's on my TH magna. I now think it's time to upgrade :D . I managed to get my hands on a set of 19's. They are 19x8's and when I put them on they hit the struts  . Is there anything I could do to make them fit? Or should I just go for some 18's? (if it helps I have a TH magna with VRX kit and Ralliart front bar)

Cheers!

not to sure why they would fit if ur using 235/35/R19 tyres?

But i would like to see some pics of ur car! the ralliart/vrx combo interests me lol. Cheers. JM

just go get some spacers from a tyre shop... try 3mm. then 5mm etc till you get some decent clearance.. do go over the top.. i wouldnt use more than a 5mm spacer personally..

you can leave it like that OR have the spacer welded to the rim which apparently makes it legal then.. not sure how true it is about being legal once welded on, probably should check that out yourself..

ok it's illegal if you use them at all, if you get them welded to the wheel it makes it worse due to the heat involved in welding causing stress fractures or possibly cracking the center of the wheel.

basically if you are in any of accident you will loose any kind of insurance you may have and will be held accountable for any damage done to other cars even if it's not your fault. Then again you could always go with 'nah they won't notice them', works for some people.

19's would be illegal anyway since the TH only ever came with wheels up to 16", and I've been told you can legally only go up two sizes.

Please correct me if I'm wrong though.

Rules in Victoria now, is just if your rolling diameter is within 2% (i think) of original ur sweet.

pretty sure that in SA the old +2 rule still exists...shows how old we are.
