ok peoples, killbilly has inspired me:P
the four banger is now starting to piss me off and i was wondering what kinda problems id hit with putting in the TS 3.0l
bolt straight in> will i need a 3.0l gerabox or will my current 5 speed work.
etc etc
Cheers

im pretty sure that the 2.6l box will not bolt onto the 3litre.....the engine mounts are also different so u will have to get an engineer's certificate if u change them.....

No the 2.6 Box won't bolt on.
Mate you would probobly be far better of and save more money buy either selling yours and get a TR/TS 3.0L instead
of upgrade to a TE

The 2.6 litre engine isn't too bad an engine. If you get a pod filter you can take it off and put it on a 3.0/3.5 litre engine if you find one you want to purchase later on so the investment hasn't gone to waste.

i did some looking into getting a transplant for a 3.0L v6 and found that after all the costs it just wasnt worth it. Would probably be cheaper to turbo the 4. but again not really worth it. Hence i decided to just keep the 4 and do some minor mods on it to keep myself entertained until i can afford a better car.

This is a question I should just have on a text doc so I can paste it in lol
Ok the entire front, ie lower control arms, rack, cross members all need to be changed. this will allow the front, rear and rhs engine mount to go in.
The inner guard measures up about the same, we did a comparison between the v6 and 4 mounts, although a bit hard to explain the mod would be very minimul, thus a cert, if it is even reqd, would be very basic.
It would be easier to get either a v6 in bad condition and transfer all to goodies from yours or get a good one, transfer all your goodies then sell your 4 banger as a stocker
Oh and this should really be in the TR/S section thus the move

That engine would be so easy to turbo it aint funny, why not look into that instead, would not cost too much either. And you would have an absolute sleeper on your hands. 8)
