I've spoken to a few other members about this and it seems that the 3rd gen Mitsubishi Eclipse

runs the same engine (6G72 SOHC) and presumable the same auto and manual gearboxes.

Which begs the question.

Would performance parts made for those (I know there aren't as many as for the 2nd gen as the 3rd was shunned by tuners) and more importantly the gearboxes be a viable option for us out here. If so, this may be an untapped resource for us when sourcing performance parts for our cars.

Given the current exchange rates, bargains from across the pond aren't as easy to find, but this may help for those looking for hard to find parts.

Only a very few will, the K&N intake kit does, but they are around 400+ US each for a bit of platic pipe and a podm there is a few other items as well but yeah not game enough to spend money on crap

If the tuners have shunned this car over there for whatever reason, this just means the bastards will come here and steal our supercharger kits and such and score themselves a good bargain with the exchange rate.

I was thinking more along the lines of camshafts, clutches, headers etc.

It was shunned because the 2nd Gen had the option of a 4G63 Turbo engine and AWD. Which meant near compatibility with anything Evo.

Cams, camgears, pistons, rods, clutches, brakes, stainless valves, valve springs. They still lean on us for complete motors thou. The 2nd gens are tuner favourites because they're getting cheaper everyday, dohc, and there's lots of info. Like VS commodores in a way. Thought the swear-filter would've picked that up ;)
