Hi,

The fuel gauge on my TP 1990 Magna isn't showing any level at all. Yep, the tank is full :)

The other gauges on the display work, it's just the fuel one that doesn't. It's backlit, but there's no brighter orange meter showing.

Any ideas what could be wrong there? Thanks.

Cheers!

wait till the tank is below 1/3
then remove the sender in the tank to check its function
make sure the float arm isnt stuck

Thanks. I only just read your reply :) I only just drove the car again today.

Sorry, I have no idea where the "sender" or "float arm" is; do you have a diagram or scan from the vehicle manual that you could show me/upload?

Starting the car from cold, the fuel gauge shows nothing and the fuel warning light is on. As the car warms up, one two or three bars appear on the meter. Does that help?

Cheers!

the fuel sender is a unit attached to the tank

you need to get under the car to get to it

if you are not sure ......have a mechanic remove and test it for you
if faulty you may have to chase one up from a wrecker

another way is have a universal sender unit fitted
non digital and a seperate fuel guage
