Hey folks
I start my new job next week and i've actually been saving my money up lately and am intending on keeping the magna for a fair while.
I've got the tin-iest boot in the history of cars (thats not an understatement, it hurts your ears when you shut it) so a sub is out of the question and i don't want a thousand dollar system.
I'm quite happy with the 6.5" 3ways i have in the front at the moment but i've always had my el cheapo 6x9's in the rear.
I'm looking at upgrading the deck to one that has an aux input but i'm quite happy to look for that and decide upon one by myself.
(only help i need there will relate to decisions i make with what follow...)
I'm wondering what kind of good 6x9's i can go for that are not overly expensive but will still give me plenty of bass...for 6x9's that is
I'm assuming maybe 2 ways again but not sure.
Also, i was considering getting an amp for them all to get a bit more power out of them all. I will obviously need to sound proof my doors at the moment as they already thump (damn glx's) but yeah, would this be of any value, getting an amp for the fronts and possibly also the 6x9's?
If so, what things would i need on the headunit (number of preouts and whatnot)

Sure you don't want to run a sub? You won't hear your boot rattle :P

Anything will sound better than what you have at the moment in regards to the 6x9's and they really don't put out enough bass, you'll still want a sub :P

I'd get the speakers then decide whether you want to amp them, the 20-22 odd RMS the h/u pumps out should be enough to keep you satisfied for a while and then you could possibly expand

Most decent head units come with 2 RCA's which is heaps for what you want to do

Boot rattle = $10 tin of sound deadner from supercheap = rattle gone = hip pocket happy :D

Well im not considering a sub in the near future but i may do in some time.
I'm looking at buying a headunit at the moment and i'll start shopping round for some new 6x9's.
Any help/ideas as to the 6x9's would be great, something under 100 if possible but maybe up to 150? (moreso under 100 though :D)
Also, how does the wiring work with an amp?
Does it go straight from your headunit to the amp and then the speaker wires run off the amp? (i would assume this is the logical thing)
Also, what guage wire would i need and approx cost?
