Clean your wheels once a week as otherwise the brake dust will bake on. There's not really much else as if you change to a low-dust pad, it would be likely that they are rock hard and don't do much to stop the car.

Just live with it and clean it.
It is a result of the newer compounds now used in place of asbestos. i think I rather the dust to the cancer

Easy solution!
Don't brake :D
Your wheels are going to get brake dust on them if you like it or not.
Either put a hose on your wheels once a week or keep your wheels nice & polished & all the brake dust should just wipe off with a rag.

actually asbestos isnt half as bad as it was made out to be. To get cancer from it you need to breath a large quantity of fibres per day for an extended period of time. such as the asbestos miners. Its just that in modern society people are paranoid about all kinds of health hazards no matter how little the risk is.

yup, cheap pads in particular do that. if you go to PAGID (at $500 a set) i guarantee they will not do that! i tried bendix ultimate last time when i couldnt get my pagid's made for the rally car in time and yeah that black **** pours out. if you look on different packets you'll find theyre designed for different things, some will say they're clean, but not necessarily for performance. if you want it all you gotta pay for it.

Its just that in modern society people are paranoid about all kinds of health hazards no matter how little the risk is.
yet, millions of aussies and people round the world contine to smoke, which kills more people then car accidents and drowings, not forgetting drug O.D's combined.
yet, we are paranoid when the city council overlooks a crack in the pavement when we risk tripping over and breaking our pelvis - when really, we should be accountable for our own actions and step OVER that small crack

we have a good reason to be paranoid about cracks in pavements booya, especially the elderly. Cracks in pavements not stepped over will bring down an elderly lady, who on impact, will break a pelvis. Perhaps not everyone could step over a crack in the pavement. Filling in these cracks of pavement will ensure that no more zimmer frame wheels will be thrown off course.
Oh yeah, I do get quite a bit o' brake dust after a hard day's driving. A cloth and hose soon sees it fixed (squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeak go the brakes boys, squeak!, squeak!, squeak!)

ok fair enough, but the point i was trying to make, is the fact that yes, i do see a lot of 'older' australians contine to smoke, even tho 30years ago, they KNEW that it would rot their lungs!
ok, so the crack has a good point with the elderly, but more 'common' and overlooked health issues is what i was getting to.
oh, and to add, yes, i get brake dust on my car too! i just give it a bit of water and its all gone :D

yeh people in modern society are twisted. Personally i would prefer to have asbestos brakes rather than smokeing.
Tho i spose who wants to live to be an elderly vegatable with no control over the mind or your own flatulance anyway.
