As per the title, are there any quality, powerful head units with USB port that'll fit the standard slot and still not kick my wallet over the fence?

My JVC one does USB and its great.......
Can't go wrong with JVC, affordable, great features, easy to use and totally reliable. I have never had a JVC play up on me and I have had about 4 in different cars over the years

Was looking at alpines, but most of them had ipod only at the time. Ended up with a JVC usb headunit for around $400 and it's great, no complaints at all.

I have the Clarion DXZ786USB. It retails at $499, however I picked mine up for $385. You just have to know where to shop. It has plenty of features, so if you want to expand on your car audio setup, it'll cater for it. And you can change the colour of the screen too :D

Friend has an Alpine model above this one here and its awesome, but looking at the two this one (http://www.alpine.com.au/products/product.asp?modelID=367) CDE-9882Ri is sweet for $349, has 3 preouts too.
