Does anyone have picture of an intact rear engine mount/torque stay?
I had a look at mine and I can't determine whether it has split or it is supposed to be like that.
I've already replaced the drivers side mount and the tear was obviously in that one.

im in the same boat, just replaced the drivers side mount and the car still shudders pretty bad when i decellerate. im thinkin its the rear mount but as with you i cant determan weather it needs replacing. i think it has 4 slots in it, if not mine is definatly stuffed.

is your car shuddering?

My rear engine mount is shot. Engine shudders like a mofo. The mount has 3 or 4 slots/cracks/tears in it with a couple of them weeping oil. I have a poly race spec mount sitting here which i got off Megatron, which will be going on the car in the next couple of weeks.

i dont suppose there are engine dampers on the market for east-west engine setups?

ill be going down to Fulcrum in a the coming weeks as they offer engine mount bushes in Poly now (well have for some time) but they make to order providing they have a stock one to copy.

how bad to you guys think engine vibration would be with all mounts made of polyuerathane?

Pretty bad, Brad had one on his 3l that ScreamingTE made up for us, and he used 85 grade from memory (same grade as Nolathane bushes) and it vibrated like crazy, Granted he has an upgraded cam though. You shouldnt really need Poly mounts until you are pushing some decent power through the wheels to stop tramlining.

I wouldn't say its a shudder, its more of a clunk or a knock on decel. and sometimes during low speed steering, but it doesn't always do it.
I might replace the plastic spiral wrap on the front springs too just to make sure.
As a precaution I replaced the front sway bar bushes when it first started making the sound, needless to say this had no effect on the sound.

mine does the same thing and I too thought my rear mount was stuffed I think it just looks different to the others, what I found was the exhaust mount in front of the cat was busted, one side is fine the other is stuffed, will replace it in a few days and see if the clunk is gone.
