I've used the search button!!
Now I'm upgrading my sound system from 1 to 2 amps, my question is;
If I'm running 0 guage power to a distribution block to 4 guage power, can I use 4 guage ground for each amp or is it 0 guage?

You use 4AWG to ground the amps - your amps will only be able to fit 4AWG.
HOWEVER - since you are running a positive cable of 0AWG, your battery earth has to be 0AWG aswell. So take the damn 20minutes it takes to do this.....
Before you ask, if yours is a 3rd gen - yes, you can fit a 0AWG battery earth, in factory location aswell.
For a way through, there's a big rubber grommet in the firewall (passenger side, halfway down) that you can cut open, feed the 0AWG through, and silicone back up again.
wha? need a 0ga earth? what for? what amps? and why is he running an earth from the battery back to the boot?!

Earth cable from the -ve terminal to chassis...
Dunno why you're using 0ga Grelise... Overkill?

It must be late aye Woob? :P
0AWG earth. From the battery negative terminal, to the chassis earth (where the factory earth is near the battery).
0AWG may be overkill for 2 amps....but hey, bigger is better.

Because I can:D
At the time it was the only kit available and later down the track might upgrade to an even bigger system.
i didnt get why you were telling him where in the firewall to run 0ga through. from the sounds, he's already running it. sounded like you were telling him to run the 0ga earth through it

Ha in a nutsell:
-Yes you can run 0ga power cable to your boot.
-Yes you can then run 2x 4ga ( even 3 or 4 depending on the amps )off the 0ga cable
-Ers is mentioning to upgrade your earth from the battery to the chassis. However because the length of that is shorter than the 4odd meter power cable run to the boot, you can work out how much current is being drawn by your amps and use a suitable size cable to match. For example, even if your amps are pulling 100A in total, if you have a 1m upgraded earth from the battery, you only need 6ga from the negative terminal. It will probably be easier just to get the same size though as it will at least look better. :D
-Use the same size earth cables from your amp as what power cable you are putting it. Having a free flowing earth is definately going to help your system.

YES!! A straight answer!!
I know where to run the power cable as I did the same to my last car, this is the first time that I'm running two amps so my first question was what I needed answering.
man people need to word stuff properly :S im impressed you managed to properly decipher it charisma :P

I thought I worded it as clearly as I could, but I think some people look to much into the Questions.
I'll rethink my wording next time.:)

Dunno if it was mentioned (dont think it was) but rule of thumb I've learnt is whatever size cable your feeding the amp is the size you ground it with, so since you are giving it 4ga power, give it 4ga earths (or bigger if you dont have 4ga available)
Woob - i'll try and word my stuff better too :-P
ill try n read non-tired, now we are all doing our bit :D
