Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has attempted this? I have ideas (Car PC related) for the space currently occupied by the cost-cutting window switches in the console, and would like to know peoples thoughts on the difficulty of relocating them to the front doors. Obviously I'd need to got a hold of door trims with the window switches (know anyone with front all-black doors trims to get rid of?).
Cheers :D

pretty sure your going to need the door trims from a TL verada
if the plugs are the same then you'll only need to extend the wire to reach the drivers door
but the other problem is wiring in the passenger door

An idea might be to find a verada at a wreckers with switch's in the doors and then start tracing the wiring loom back to a loom plug that connects all all four windows then see if yours is the same. If it is then it's just a matter of, and I know it's not as easy as it sounds but, changing the looms over.
But the hardest part I'm guessing would be getting the loom through the grommets in the front doors.
I wonder if it's worth all the hassle.
Either way it'll be a time consuming exercise.
I wish you luck if you go through with it.

Not sure if its the same in the 3rd gens but in the 2nd gens all the doors go back to the drivers door.
Each switch has one power and 2 common grounds. So you'll need to run 3 wires.
I dont think it'll be a pain in the ass to do, but if you got some days off coming up, it'll probably take up 2 of those days at MAX So thats swapping door cards over and extending the wiring.
Again, if you can suss out what actually goes where Id like to know.
KL-TW trims, try to get the harnesses as well, otherwise just run fresh wiring. Simple to do, but a little time consuming. I'll help out one weekend if you need it.
Dibs on your old door cards too if you give me a decent price :P can drill a hole for my winders and it wont look stupid because of the switches :) could use those courtesy lights.

Yeah if I can find the door trims then I'll do it, and post up how I did it (and if it was worth it :P).
Sounds good Dean, if I can source the parts will do it in the holidays. Could do it at Peter's, just won't let him near any live wires lol

Might want to get some Vinyl paint too, cards are most likely going to be a diff colour.
Any card from TE Altera or KE to KW should be fine.
