NOOB here, hope this post isn't TOO MUCH in the incorrect place. Tell me gently if I've done this wrong.....

Was at Pick'n'Payless Blacktown NSW today, couple of 2nd Gen's there with woodgrain. One in particular was in MINT condition, and very glossy finish - unlike a KS I had and passed-on to dad. Its a white sedan behind a silver wagon in the rows, just in case anyone is interested.

All door switches were there. The whole sweep of dash was there. The panel around climate control had tabs broken, but could be patched-up invisibly. the gear-selector surround panel was there, the radio panel may not have been. (I was concentrating on 3rd Gen bits for moi).

But it looked bloody good to me (but, be warned, I DO have dashboard protectors and wooly seat covers in my cars - I'm old. But not cloth-cap old. LOL). There was another car with the satin-y/dull woodgrain that I recall. Cheers, hope this is handy for someone. /Phil

Hey Phil, welcome.
That's a KS XI i believe. And the last of the last KS models had a glassy "gloss" finish on their woodgrain, like shown in the picture below.
Much saught after items and they'll be gone quick if their in the yard.

yep, that very true... and the non gloss woodgrain is the one that won't get sold any time soon... after almost a year, i'm still yet to sell my woodgrain dash trim :doubt:

but i sold my woodgrain center console trim a few months back!

Aye, it's the deeper gloss woodgrain that everyone's after, it seems.

Personally I think any form of woodgrain looks ****, the executive trim at least looks a little tougher and modern...

Each to ones own, I guess.

yeah same, not a fan of any 2nd gen woodgrain
in the 3rd gens it was a little nicer

but a good standard interior or even painted in 2nd gens i think looks much better

lexus's and jags are the only cars so far iv felt the woodgrain looks perfect

The stuff at blacktown is the matt finish, no xi's there that I could find last time I was there (a few weeks ago)
