I have a TH Sports..for a start...and

..ive seen a few references to these trip computers being fitted to other Magnas and was wondering a few things....

..what model Verada do i have to get it from to suit my Magna ?
..what Magna will it go into ?
..what does it offer over and above my existing display..??

...and how do i wire it up.....as i have seen references to having to fit another wire or something...


Just checked with my local wreckers and one wanted $150.00 for one and another had KE/KF for $75.00... will the KE/F ones fit..????

The only difference is it has a digital clock in it. Verada's had a stereo in them that didn't display the time, so the clock was just relocated next to the trip computer.

You can get one out of any pre-KJ II Verada (when the trip computer was relocated to the dash cluster) that has a trip computer.

Cant use a KE one unless you want a clock only, and afaik only the KF and KH have the clock built in with the trip computer.

I got mine out of a KJ series 1 and only paid $40 from the wreckers here, and yes you only get a clock extra but as far as I'm concerned it looks much better.

so,this is the reply i got from a wrecker in qld....he seems to think that the kf will work okay...so what wiring do i have to modify to make it work on my TH Sports...

....so...if there actually a seperate window that displays the clock and a seperate one for the trip info...?????

I do not believe that a KF came with a trip computer, only a clock. The wrecker might have meant KH or KJ?

If you want the retain your trip computer and also have the clock, you will need to source one from a KH or series 1 KJ Verada (not sure about series 2?) or a limited edition TJ VRX. It has a screen about twice as wide with the usual trip computer info on the right and clock on the left.

I have one in my TJ and as per JasonsVRX's instructions, I just cut the green/yellow wire and connected the car end of it into the solid gray wire. The plug end of it was taped up. It's too simple and having a clock there is very handy as my HU doesn't have one.

And, there's no way on earth it would work in a TF would it? Not without replacing half the wiring loom...
