Anyone having troubles with their car stalling after starting - check the battery. If it reaches a low charge state ie. old battery, it will stall after starting. Eventually it will get to the point where it won't stay running. Easy fix - just replace the battery.

Hope this helps

Mine was doing this the last couple of days, checked the battery and turned out there was no water in it. Which triggered my memory of water pouring out of it when I moved it to put new headlight globes in, and me saying "remember to fill her up later" then not doing it. Starts as per usual now after re-fill.

Lucky I found this thread because I was going to take the throttle body off and clean it (something I've never done and may have failed at).

So +1 for checking battery if car is stalling/losing revs on start-up.

For the record, I had this problem in my old TJ and that's what the dealer told me... however after replacing the battery three times, and running out of warranty in the meantime - grrr, I eventually had an auto elec narrow it down to a problem in the key reader which was killing the engine to immobilise the car.

Yup from my experience and reading on these forums, if your 3rd gen isn't starting the top 2 problems (besides having no fuel :P) are the battery and the key reader having a poor connection.
