Anybody here know how to tell the difference between a series II and a series I TJ?
A work mate is looking to buy the harlequin TJ in Tasmania and it doesn't have the series II badge at the back, but the seller insists it's a series II

Just ask what the build date is, that will tell you. July 02 was the start of the TJ Series II.

Edit: Typo ;)

There is 3 series in the TJ...

Series 1 is Dials For AC and Analog Milage Display
Series 1.5(MY02) is Climate Control and Anolog Milage Display
Series 2 is Climate Control and Digital Milage Display

They are the basic. 17inch alloys where MY02 and Series 2. There was also a limted wit coloured half leather and dash(red & Blue) that where series 1 and MY02..

:)

Series 2 was July 2002.

My car is a series 2 but didn't come with a series 2 badge, built date august 02.

The EGO appears to have presumed its a VRX your looking at lol

For exec, the tippy makes it MY02 or SII. Advance, climate control. Sports & VRX, 1 piece parras. And then yeah to determine if its MY02 or SII, check to see if the ODO is digital or analog, Digital is the SII.

Those aren't all the differences obviously, but the ones that'll stick out to your eye. Build date is the easy way lol Who'd wanna do it the easy way!

I think you're referring to the VR-X? TJ-II didn't all have climate OR all power windows either... I usually just go off if it's Tippy or standard auto seeing as most Magnas came out as auto.

Pretty safe bet the OP is talking about a VR-X since the car colour is harlequin

Wasn't it only a very limited number of VR-X's that came in Halequin?

I dunno exactly but my cousin has a TJ sports in the flashy gold colour, im fairly sure its just a sports but il try ringing her to check. Il post up soon hopefully. Ive been wanting that car for years, Manual and shiny gold

EDIT: yupyupyup its a Sports, apparently the gold was an Olympics thing though, not a VRX thing.
