Hey all,

I recently bought a KJ Cluster and am gonna try fitting into my TJ, dunno if it'll work at all, but thought what the heck lol. I also bought a TH centre message display hopeing that i can change the wireing loom to get it working, (lotsa work coming my way if this is the case).

After reading other threads im starting to think that if i have a Series 2 TJ, the trip computer is actually in my cluster which would pretty much screw up my plans, but anyways gonna try.

I was wondering if anyone has a diagram of the looms behind the KJ cluster, and picture possibly... or maybe a simple wireing diagram of each cluster??

Cheers

Hey There!! Am sure your plan will be worthwhile, but possibly a challenge.

Have a look at the "Tech Torque" forum on this site. Near top of the list will be a "Sticky" thread which contains links for the Genuine Mitsubishi Workshop Manuals for various Magna/Verada model series.

You can download a PDF file of the reference manuals as used by Mitsi Dealers etc. As you might imagine, these are EXCELLENT. They will have all the wiring diagrams you need, and you will be able to print-off loom diagrams for each model and compare the differences in wiring/wire-colours etc.

As a guy who can't get his bluetooth car kit going again after moving it from TJ Sports to KJ VEerada, I wish you all the luck in the world. But I reckon it should be possible.

TJ/KJ Series one has Trip Computer display above the Centre Vents in middle of dash. TJ Series two has trip computer display in an LCD panel below Speedo/Tacho dials in cluster (I'm not sure what KJ Series 2 did). IMHO, Trip Computer above centre-vents was MUCH better - larger, clearer, higher in dash and hence safer, with better eye-line to keep eyes on the road.

You may need to get some Loom and/or connectors for the KJ cluster - a post in recent thread suggested that there are more connections into the KJ cluster (I posted that a KJ cluster was at a NSW wrecker, turned out heaps of AMC had been ahead of me, and I even missed some AMC graffiti on the wrecked panel of the donor car  )

Good luck with your plan, let us know if you get it working?
