Has anyone ever had this issue in their Third gen? It's only happened to me once, being the drivers door, and the drivers side back door. They have both opened, not completely but half way for no reason while driving. it's a shock when it happens.
Thats a bit special.
Is your car named Christine by any chance?
On a serious note, couple of possibilities...
Your locking mechanism is in need of some TLC.
Your car has been in a T bone accident, and the repairs arnt quite up to mitsi standards.

Reminds of the old VW beetle, passenger door flys open when going round round a round-a-bout.
Seatbelts Mandatory. lol

Yeah.. just takes a long while..:P
Id be looking to see that the laches on the door is tight and not loose. could be caused by loose fitting..
So it happend to the drives rear door twice or two differant doors. Sorry my heads a bit sore today..:)

once i was doing about 20, doing a sharp left hander, and this morning i was doing 60ish on the way to work. i'll just take it to mitsi's and see what they do at least i'm still under warranty

Are you sure on both occassions the doors were properly closed and not partially latched. I see lots of cars driving around with a 1/2 inch gap and are oblivious to the extra noise coming in. Depending on how partially latched they are, they can swing out under certain situations like sharp turns, especially if there was a mid-corner bump.

Nah the doors were closed properly, when they opened they only opened to the partially latched position, maybe i need some new latches

That could be it.. Do a test.. Get in the car and shut the door.. Push on the door hard and see if they move to half lacted, Dont use the handles just push them hard from the inside. if so something is wrong.. Have you checked to see it the latch on the door is tight...?? there is 3 or 4 screws. also the lactching bit ob the car where latch grabs. that has two screws. make sure they are both tight..

Make sure you use the right size driver. They are rather large screws.. Yeah but would be interested to see if they are tight.. My pick is something is loose. if not if has to be the latches and then see if they pass or fail the latch test..:)
Goodluck.

Latch test?
Simple.....wind down the window, close door.....try and yank the door out with your hands lol

Well that didnt work yesterday.. Well there is only two possible things. loose or broken. impicking loose as those latches are desided to with stand good impact so i dont think broken..:)
odds as $86.40 on latch defect..:)
Im placing a $5 bet on 15:1 that its the inner door handle wire being too tight not allowing the latch to completely lock.

Nah that hasnt happened. i'll let you all know what i find out tonight, which prob won't be much.
see the rear door opened once on me like that like 12 months ago, and hasnt done it since, i'm betting the front door just did it once and won't do it again. My magna has done lots of weird crap, and it's only done it once, and never repeated it. And might i add it never repeats itself when you're showing the dealer.
BTW Hooray for obama

Funny enough.... My drivers door did this about 3 months ago......
I'm sure I closed it properly.... going around a bend at about 30-40Km/h mid corner bump (Small) and it popped open..... never did it since....
I figured I just didn't close it properly..... I checked all attachment screws, sprayed some silicone lube around and checked it... hasn't done it since......
Scares the crap out of ya though...

So were the doors semi-closed or semi-open?
That is the question....

well if they were in a closed position and were forced open, ill go half open, but if it is already open and is pushed to shut, ill go half closed.
