hey guys, ive done a search and looked at many threads about cams and stuff, but none that really specify in detail about a supercharged cam profile, I do know that it would proberley have greater lift and duration then a factory cam, and it would have to have minimal valve overlap, i want to get a set made up, but im pretty sure my source hasnt made some for a magna, so i think i will have to give him the details and he will dial in the correct profile
can anyone help?
EDIT: thinking a centrufigual charger, like the raptor, boost depending on set up, 6-7Psi
i want a air-air cooler, but the piping might get a bit squishy, going down to the front bar

what charger you running / planning to run and what PSI would help with the recommendation.

A word of advise dont go air to air as i tried and i will be a massive pain to fit and most probably will cost more than a good water 2 air system.

yeah, kinda had a feeling about that, but i like the look of the air-air, but anyway, do u know much about the cam?

i have heard in another thread that 260 duration with a min overlap is the way to go.

Yep 252-260ish with the least amount of overlap poss, with a decent amount of lift. Also before going crazy with cams etc get the blower first then look at that sort of stuff, basics first.

i was kinda going to get all the parts first, cuz im doing a 3.5 conversion too, si i thought while the engine is out, do everything, so the car is off the road for as short a time as possible

If you have the money and time, might as well strip it down and put some slugs in as well so you can run more boost.

For power to dollar ratio yes, means you can run the Raptor V which gives you the 12psi etc then you can look at things like cams and headwork etc down the track.
For around the 3-4k it would cost for Forged Slugs, ARP bolts whole lot balanced, a mild cam deshrouding of the valves and new external acc's, thats providing you are able to strip the block down yourself and rebuild it (aka put the heads back on and so on. Will make a rather nicely powerful magna

whats a slug tho? piston?
yeah, kinda dont want to spend that much, cams i only want cuz a friend says they will give them to me cost price. so only the blank billet.
so i wanted a charger, with a cooler, running 6-7psi and a set of charged spec cams.
oh and i also have along with the 3.5. manual conversion stuff with a heavy duty clutch
and a set of pacemakers, with full 2.5 inch system, ready to go.
should be a nice improvment over the 3.0L auto:D

Yeah Slug=Piston
I doubt you will gain much at all with just a cam upgrade though, might net a few kw and shift the power band a bit toward the giggity end of the tacho.
Even without the cam you should net around 180kw atw give or take with that setup easily enough. Let us know who you are going to get the cams done by though if you do get them, will be interesting to see.

cool, oh and does anyone have any suggestions on a piggyback ecu. that doesnt cost too much, and preferably has a handcontroller that i can swtich between two different tunes.
like a power tune and a safe economy tune.
where i can change the ignition timing and also the A/f ratio
