hey guys
Just did a quick search and read up on relocating battery to the boot etc but this seems unfeasible for my specific needs. also searched brands etc with none of the information provided that i need.
Question is: is there a type of battery/brand that delivers more power than the stock battery but is smaller in size?
Reason being is in the near future I'll be joining the boosted ranks but in the set description I will require a smaller battery and I can't compromise power due to the huge amount of ICE im running. The current power system struggles as in, which I was looking to upgrade anyway.
Judging by Stacky's pic in the Raptor thread, repiping would most probably be very difficult as to not compromise the position of the battery.
I'm aware of relocating the battery to the rear, but not heaps keen as I dont have much room in there anyway, and it will require venting if I go the traditional type.
Cheers in advance guys

odyssey 650. Micro battery with big power for its size.
edit: funny.. cant find it on their site any more, i wonder if they discontinued it.
If not that, Optima D51's are quite compact and powerful, or the Optima equivalent, whatever the hell they call their model numbers.
2nd link is fail too :P site needs a login
Actually.. on 3rd thoughts, the most powerful, cheap, and compact battery you could get would be one from the Absorb Power range. Lots of car audio stores sell them, depending where your located, and they are DAMN cheap.. The batts are actually branded as 3 brands, inc Odyssey, but Absorb seems to sell them the cheapest.
If you are relocating, can you simply run a $80 special from Supercheap with some nice 32mm^2 cable to the front and similar to the ICE for basically 99.98% of the performance a really expencive (shorter life) sla battery and 0 gauge could supply?
heres a PDF for the Absorb that would probably suit your application.

there is a smaller one but its only 12aH, mind you this would be fine too unless youve got some decent current draw.

Cheers for the replies guys. Ended up having a chat to MAD35L and we are going to see a mob he frequents about the cost of relocating to the boot. If its some crazy figure, I'll prob throw the models/brands up to the auto eleco and see what they think (once my exams are over :P)
PS: im running 10 tvs, farod capacitor, two amps and two dual voice coil subs and a couple of neons here and there. So its a fairly big demand. I think at auto salon, running everything the battery went flat in less than 5 minutes :P
250cca would crank the car over fine, and once its running it doesnt matter, what he wants is decent aH and good deep cycling
if you end up paying an auto leccy for a boot relocation, at the same time get him to hook up some connection terminals under the bonnet to hook a battery charger up to at shows like Salon.
and if you go boot mount, get a 100aH Power Absorb. An auto leccy will recommend whatever brand they sell, so dont go by his word. Mate of mine is running $3000 worth of Power Absorbs in his audio car, a good 1050aH worth of battery :) single 100aH shouldnt cost more than about $400.
