My parker lights aren't working in my headlights for some reason......... After changing parras on the front end of my car the other week.

My dash, interior and tail lights are working fine.

I do have LED's in there, have rotated them both to see if they were the wrong way but still no luck, and don't have any other globes to test handy tonight.

Do they run in a series circuit?

Is there any particular fuse for the front parkers that I should check????

Cheers in advance

Checked for melted wires? :)

Btw, Norah Head is a nice place - Went for a cruise on sunday afternoon. Seen the lighthouse, boat ramp, beach etc...

They could simply both be blown..Check the bulbs for any blackness on the bulb itself or the obvious blown filament. other then that, use a test light for multimeter to check for power coming out.
Weird one but I'm sure it'll be something simple

He is using LED parkers, my suggestion would be to try different globes. Pete - if you need some I still have 18 white T10 wedge LED's.

And the burnt wire reference was to when he connection his ON circuit to a ground and fryed a few inches of wiring :P Had to be there.

Frig I'm blind, could swear that said Do not have LED's
If they are parras they use a BA9S bulb which you will need to cut the wiring and swap it over that way as the bulb only fits in one way. if they are standard headlights they are T10.
but, i have had dodgey LED globes before that simply did not work.
Test with other globes mate

Yeah LED's and they are actually bayonet fittings but thanks for the offer Dean.

I will dig up some standard globes and the multimeter and check it out

It is possible that I have blown both of them with a surge of power, I do have a habit of short-circuiting things :bowrofl:

Cheers

lol @ Life thanks mate

OK, WTF time.........

There is power coming to the bulb holders...... but the positive is on the outside and the negative is the pin on the inside (tested these).... that doesnt make sense.

So I think the LED globes are getting the wrong polarity it seems and therefore not working..... but why has me puzzled. Do 2nd gen owners usually need to switch polarity to run LED globes in KS parras? Shouldnt the positive pin be on the inside of the bulb holders and not on the very exposed outside????

LED's only work one way, and being crappily made they could of wired them any way really, its simple mate just chop the wires going to the parker, switch and test. worse comes to worse twits and tape but please only do so temporarily.

I had to do that to both of my parker lights on my parras mate, no big deal

Thats is really strange........ That one set of parras would be wired differently to another.... it just doesn't make sense. Not that it matters with standard globes. The plug from the wiring loom can't go on any other way either

I was kinda hoping I'm just doing something stupid and the explanation was easier than that.......

I'll switch it properly with solder and heatshrink another time when i get a chance.....

Anyone else reading this had to switch polarity on your parras to get LEDs to work????

Maybe my old parras were switched and thats why that worked - must have had a pimp-grandpa as the last owner.... I will have to investigate my old lights

Cant hurt to try anyway.
if power is coming from the socket, and you "know" the globes work, it must be the wirings polarity or maybe there is some other fault in the parras wiring to the parkers, i say do what i said first, which is switch the wires, and see how that goes. cant hurt

Yep.... I had to switch polarity to get mine to work... did it at the plug just outside the light assembly..... mine are the TJ-II VR-X parras.

I use the LED's like the picture above (far left) great LED's they are... keep blowing the right side one every 2 months though.... they don't like heat much....
