Anybody know if it has the same engine mounts as the 6G74??

If so (I assume it does for the following reason) I am gonna try and get my hands on it for my Magna.

Some info for those interested:
Mitsubishi Proudia - Jap spec comes with two engines:
6G74 and 8A80 - now i assume they would mount the same so the cars can be manufactured more readily and easily!! Therefore i want the 8A80..

Specs:
8A80
4.5L V8 DOHC
206kw @ 5000RPM
412Nm @ 4000RPM
GDI (same as MPI)

hmmm, i am liking the sound of this!! I wanna have the first V8 Manual FWD magna!!! mmm, bring on the big boys then!! and with the extra weight in the front of it - more chance of traction for the greater power!!

What is everyones opinion?? U reckon I can do it!! If i can - I will be selling a 6G74 with less than 100K on the clock!!

unless you have traction control youll have torque steer happening alot.

Also i dont think the current gearbox would handle a v8 (so youd need to look into that)

And im pretty sure your Dif wouldnt last too long..

Good idea though..

it wouldnt be a simple bolt out bolt in - there would be a lot of work involved - including strengthening the box - fctory though it comes with the invecs2 tip tronic - so it would be a bit of mod for that, as for diff - welll that will have to be strengthened and LSD will be in - so - it could be interesting - the LSD will be out of a FTO Turbo so it should be able to handle the power.

Apart from that it would be a sick as mod!!

RPW aren't touching the manual box for their twin turbo kit are they? I would hope it will make bucket loads more power than 206kW and probably more torque than that V8 does.

They have just put in a heavy duty clutch from memory and are fitting an LSD very soon.

So...how much u want for the 3.5?

Its a mad idea as long as u take in to account the box and diff...

Theres a few sounds i live...a boxer engine, VTEC and a rumbling V8

Yes the TT probly will put out more power than the V8 - but the TT will cost a shit load more to do - and hey - who owns a V8 Magna?? be a bit different - and will still be N/A!!

But I have run into a few mathematical problems!!

yeah, i've always assumed it (8A80) would have the same mounts for the proudia reason...

and yeah, a new LSD would be an essential add if you went to the V8!

the manual box should strap straight on if they use the same gear box for both 6 and 8 versions of the proudia... and it should be strong enough too, if not Dave is going to run in to problems with his turbos!!

do it, do it, do it!! :)

i hope you can speak japanese... maybe should get hold of B. seeing as he is over there at the moment... ask if he can do a little research for you...

also, you should know that the 8A80 is only 10kg heavier than the jap spec 6G74!!!

I know!! 10kg is nothing!!

But i have also heard it is a little wider - that could be the issue - i think it is about 3inches wider!!
