Hey Guys
Did a search - couldnt find the answer i want....
Just installed a factory bluetooth kit into my car today......just one question about it to those who have it as well
simply put - is the answer/hang-up button supposed to illuminate as soon as the headlights are turned on, just like the TCL and Fog Light switches? - or does it just light up only when a call is recieved?
Cheers

Yes the buttons light up with everything else in the car (ie when headlights turned on) - but they don't do anything else when a call comes through (ie blink, flash, dim, etc).

Yes, they are white lights whereas all the other lights are blue.
What version does everyone have? I brought my car back to the dealer to complain about a *thud* or *boom* that I got every time I turned the car off. Sure enough, after less than a year of use it caused a distortion in the speaker.
I had parrot version 3.18 and they replaced it with v3.20 - I am now glad to say the system works great - it's louder and picks up my voice clearer than before, best of all, no thud!!
It was replaced under warranty (along with a few others as I mention in another thread)

Capalaba Wreckers should still have a Blue tooth unit there for $100.00. Dont give em any more the that. I took it out of the GT that was there and its in good nick. The only catch is the switch aint there, so they are $80.00 genuine.....

On my mobile it says (something like), "Found Parrot v3.18" after engine is started.
EDIT: Saw today, it says "Connecting to Parrot VM3.18".
Just got my servicing paperwork in the mail - apparently the loud boom was caused by an improper connection to the fuse (wires not crimped correctly). Go figure.

Hi All, just a quick question to everyone with the factory bluetooth kit installed: Does this kit let you stream music via your mobile phone through the car stereo, or does it only handle making calls and not much else?
Any info anyone can provide would be most welcomed :)

Is the factory bluetooth kit a Parrot device? I have a Parrot in my other car, the 3200LS and was thinking about getting one for the 380 too, but if the factory unit isn't too much I probably would go for that.

Yep the factory kit is Parrot & integrates through the head unit to mute & give sound through the front door speaker & provides a factory style dash switch to answer & hangup.

I've also heard it can do voice dialing? My 3200LS supports this, through the unit itself or via the phone, but through the unit itself is superior as you can leave your phone in the boot and still dial, either by voice or the dial on the front. Since there is only one button the factory system, can it do voice dialing do you know, and if so, does your phone have to be nearby to do it?

Yep if you have voice recognition setup up & operating in your phone it will work.
