Hey guy, well in need of some advice again.
Just went to GL Pro and got a qupte of $600 for install (they supply RCA's) and im quite happy with it.
However i have an LPG tank covering the whole back.. and i have a sub in a box. Kicker 12". SO its quite large..
What are some recommendations for a NEAT (I REPEAT NEAT) install?
anyone got an ideas?
cheers guys

Are you after boot space? If so, ditch the sub box and mount the sub in where the spare wheel goes, theres no real way to relocate the LPG tank.
If you don't want to lose the spare then be prepared to lose alot of boot space.
You could blank off the tank with some carpeted board to hide it then place th sub box in front of that and have the amps mounted either side of the boot near the tail lights.
Won't be much boot space left but will look neat.
Search for fibre glass enclosure - dude on here makes a nice one that fits in either the left or right side of the boot, against the tail light.
Very nice and neat (also its for a 12").
On the opposite side, you can chuck the amp......
Done and done.......

I've got a sealed 1cu.ft sealed Strathfield box, nothing special, but does the job, fits perfectly on its side into the back corners of the boot. Clears boot hinges by 5cm.

What kicker sub are talking about? Some subs in their 12inch range will work fun in a 1cuft sealed and 1.25cuft ported which is might small.
Any decent installer will be able to suggest mouting options....

thanks a lot guys..
if the guy quoted me $600 just to put everything in, what do you reckon the extra cost will be to have it taken out of the box and put in the side of the boot, like asylums..?.
thanks again

$600!?!?!
This is why I'd never pay a 'professional' to do a boot install.
They supply RCA's ay... a whole $20 right there

for crappy non shielded RCA's maybe, for decent ones with quad shielding and the trigger are around $50 per 3m retail.

Yes, you can have your quad shielded RCA's along with your $1000 HDMI cable......
Im sure its worth it in the end.
Then again, be sure to buy $12/m 16AWG speaker cable, as its the best money can buy......not sure why, but its so much better than $3/m cable - oh, and it has stinger/rockford written every 10cm......OMFG its so awesome.

It will cost $10,000. The more you talk to them the cheaper it will get...
I got a few custom boxes built but just so you know:
Normal box ( 18mm MDF + trim ) $250
Full custom ( 25mm sides, dual 18mm rear, 36mm perpex, LED's, mirrors, decoration board, vinal trim ) $800+.
They do the same thing, just depends on what you want...

Yeah it is also going to depend on the materials used and then the labour involved. For example, if they fiberglass the back and MDF the front you could be up for $600 for a trimmed box. But again that will depend on the complexity of the design.
Davo!

some of the kickers also require a fairly large enclosure too. yours might be different, but the recomended for just a 10" CVR is like 1.5 cft i think from memory. but i could be wrong.
