Yay my first post here :) first off hello all you gen 3 drivers. I
v got myself a TJ but i think me and my mate did something very wrong when installing my new head unit :(

basicly i wont post a novel the short version is

i cheeped and didn't pay for installation(figured i could do it myself)
we blew a fuse for all the dash blinkers and everything
once i fixed the fuse my dash display(you know with the fuel per km and stuff) just does nothing
it flashes 5 at me all day and its getting rather annoying, i thought it might just take some time to reset the data or something but its been about 3weeks and over 1000ks i got no idea what to do :(

drive it for 3 years, get it fixed, sell it as "very low kilometers", and get heaps more money than your normally would...

What year is your TJ? Is your display in the centre console, right in the middle? If so, then what has happened is that when that fuse blew, the trip computer just needs to be reset. It's actually flashing an "S" at you, which stands for 'Sedan'. You can change it by pressing up/down on the speed control to "W" for 'Wagon'. So choose what your car is by pressing down on the select button for your speed control (the longish horizontal button with a dot in the middle). You will then need to choose either "3" for a 3-litre engine or "3.5" for, you guessed it, the 3.5-litre engine in the same way. After that, you should be all set.

you reset ur in dash comp, you need to reset it, the s stands for sedan, after that is set u will need to set the size of the motor 3 or 3.5, if you need more details let me kno

Happens when it loses power, hold the "MODE" button and it'll beep, press mode again to choose between 3.0 and 3.5, then hold MODE again, and it returns to normal.

Next time you install a HU, use an ISO connecter unless you trust your soldering skills and disconnect the battery!!
