Just a quick warning, TL-TW tail lights will not fit on a TE-TH boot lid. You will have trouble closing the boot, and when it does close your tail lights will flex.

I have mine on for now but really have to fast track my TJ conversion because of this, the lid is jammed in to the lights.

why dont you fit the boot on with it different colour? id watch that the boot lid doesnt damage the lights
also try taking off the black guard on the inside of the tails might free some space up!

The black guard is what it is rubbing against, and the new lid needs some holes plugged - it had a spoiler which some asshole pulled off with their bare hands and cracked the fibreglass.

It's not too tight, about 1mm on each side its pushing in the guard, I'm sure if I took it off they'd fit just fine, but I'd rather the guard get damaged then the lights themselves.

Yea, thats why I'm filling the holes and dewinging the bootl lid. Might go for a ralliart spoiler later.

if your going a ralliart spoiler please put the kit on to match as it would look quite silly

TJ tails do actually fit, they leave a gap and look stupid though. TL's are actually too tight.

These arent staying like this btw :P I have a TJ boot lid in my garage, just waiting till I got enough $$ to paint it, selling my TH's went towards that.

Lows only, no chance, gotta be supers up front and supers at the back maybe compressed another inch or so, with lows on it aint low enough, gotta be tucking tyre at minimum :P

By any chance if you have read the mods website which I did a write up on tail light and boot convert?

The thing about TJ/TL light veries from car to car. I tried fitting the custom clear tail light which are for TJ and TL but they wont allow me to shut the boot at all.

Best approach is to mod the boot to a TJ one.

Its in the DIY that it dont fit, also searching gives you the answer as well.

Actually I did read it, multiple times :P

Then I came across this and decided to give it a try until my TJ lid gets sprayed. Friggen thing is blue :|

In the end, they do fit.... BUT! They will scrape on the plastic protectors on the side of the lights.

actually i was lazy and didnt explain my self properly lol. the lights do fit as you say but its not a flush fit as the TE-TH boot lid is different to TJ onwards. as you can see in your pic the top of the boot where the light and boot meet the boot looks like its sticking out and in the middle the boot goes inwards a tad.

it wont really matter if its only goona be temp. just be carful no water gets in your boot.

Not worth the temp fit, to be honest but is only my opinion.

Get the TJ bootlid and get it sprayed to your colour and get the locks done.

For mine the boot wont close at all with the old TE bootlid and will probably damage the lights if you are not careful.
