Rattles? as in makes noise?

Or is blurry? I don't think you can stop this unless you somehow deaden it to the vibrations

The blurriness is alright, just use your side mirrors... I haven't had any trouble with rattling though

Mine does the same but it also moves so I have to get readjusting it. I just keep the volume down to prevent it, or put up with it, depending on my mood or the song.

Blu tak can be your friend. I put a little bit around the black knob that joins to the mirrors and it reduced it a fair bit. Some guys have gone to lots of trouble to stop it but not much can eliminate it..

Don't have that problem in the Bora

thanks for the input...

yes i know about the bluryness..but thats not what i mean.
just the rattling noise.
looks like ill just have to put up with it by turning up the music even louder

listen for me on the road :)

hey mate, spoke with mohit about this sometime ago
he fixed it by first rotateing and rolling the mirror to each of its axies, which improved it a little.
then found that it had worked its way loose from its mounting, so a firm push down resecured it, no more problem.
i had to use a 30mm length of 15mm clear hose between mirror and roof lining, sounds lame but worx a treat. after a while u dont look up there anymore anyway 'cause there's no noise.
i wonder if a newer mirror off say, a TW would be an improvment ?

Mine does it too! I just turn it up louder so I can't hear it.

You could try pulling it apart and either use the paint on sound deadener or some dynamat inside, I'd just buy a new mirror though, something is probably cracked or broken if its making noises.

You shouldn't have your stereo loud enough when driving to have your mirror blurring lol

Nah its a common problem on 3rd gen mirrors for them to rattle with bass, Doubt something would of broken in them from normal driving until the sub was installed, but ya never know, might be worth getting one from the wreckers (<$20) and doing what Rhys said, Cant hurt

You can also buy RTV rubber in a tube like a toothpaste tube. Fill the mirror and the joint, it seals the unit and doesn't weigh much. No more vibes. Gasket goo is the same sort of stuff. Positive is it doesn't age or melt like blu tak does, and it's black like the mirror.

here is a quick fix:

i stuck a small piece of wood between the back of the mirror and where the roof meets the windscreen, it puts pressure on the mirror and stops it from rattling!

may look stupid but it does the trick

just take the mirror off you don't need it if you have 2 side mirrors
